No Hugs Day

No hugs for anyone yesterday.

Our youngest daughter showed up with Miss Miney and Little Elvis so we sat outside and had a good visit!

Jen has been making felt creations.  This she calls a pencil bag, it has a zipper and it is lined.  She bought a new sewing machine and still has use of all her fingers.  (When she took sewing in High School she sewed her finger...yes the needle was stuck in her finger...poking out the other side.  The Doctor and I decided it was best just to hold her hand down and yank it out....painful but quick.)

The French Knots are awesome!

In the evening I social distanced with my brother, she who sees robins first, my sister and her husband and my Mom and Dad.

No hugs there either.

While I was gone our oldest daughter and Miss Paige called to wish me a Happy Mother's Day.

Maybe next Mother's Day we can have hugs back again.

Oh, it sounds like you had a good day and found out how to socialize without endangering anyone. I love Jen's felt pencil case! So cute! It's similar to the wool applique I do or the same. It can be felted wool or wool felt. She is talented that girl! She must have gotten it from her mother!

No hugs here either. I did get a phone call from my son who lives in GA. And my neighbor's granddaughters showed up and held up a big sign for her saying Happy Mother's Day. i stood on my front porch and gave the girls a big round of applause. That really made them smile. Strange times we are living in.

I have that card kit in the first photo. I never knew what to do with that large stamp. I do now!
No hugs for me either. In fact, I did a bit of boo hooing. Some days this is all hard to bear and yesterday was one of them.

It's a tricky time. We all have to suck it up and hope for the best.

I love that bag, and those beautiful decorations on it are awesome. I also love those french knots. She is as talented as you are. But it sounds like you had a wonderful, if hugless, Mother's Day. :-)

I can't wait until Mother's Day 2021. I am convinced we will be over this by then, anyway.

The felt bag is beautiful and has so many little interesting details. In spite of no hugs it did sound like a wonderful Mother's Day to me. My family doesn't "do" Mother's Day. No phone calls, no front yard visits, and my husband never even mentioned it. I did get a text from both adult children and one of the sons-in-law. So I'm always glad when the day is behind me.

I'm glad you got to social distance with so many this weekend. I agree, next year I hope we are all able to hug. (I also agree those French knots are wonderful!)

The bag is delightful and a work of art. Happy that you were able to connect with family.

I would have loved to have a Mother's Day like yours. We did facetime with Alex and Miss Piper and Mandy though so I guess it was the next best thing. I got to see their faces.
That pencil case is amazing. So many little beautiful details. I actually flinched when I read about yanking the needle out of Jen's hand. Ouch!
Take care my friend.
Blessings,
Betsy

It sounds like you had a nice Mother's Day except for the lack of hugs. The pencil bag is beautiful! She did a great job making that and even lined it - Wow! Each of my two sons called me yesterday and we got take out for dinner so that was nice. I do miss the hugs too.

Happy Belated Mother's Day! It sounds like a wonderful day. Your daughter has come a long way since sewing her finger in high school. The felted pencil case is gorgeous!

I sure love that pencil bag that your daughter created. I think she has inherited some of your fabulous talent for creating beautiful things! We had no hugs here either but did some talking on the phone with loved ones and even prayed a rosary over the phone together. Maybe next time we'll try zooming so we can see each other! Take good care you two! Glad you got to see family!

Cute card and pencil case. It's so lovely it should really have a fancier name than pencil case!

All considered your Mothers Day sounds pretty good. Sorry you didn't get any hugs though. Here's a virtual one...(((hug)))

We didn't have any hugs yesterday either. I don't know what is worse, not seeing the grands in person or seeing them and not being able to hug them.

No hugs here either, and only one guest, but a good one.

Well, in the meantime, you can always have "air hugs." A poor substitute, but it's the thought that counts.

Those creations are fabulous. I love the textured look!

I hope hugs can be back by next Mother's Day. I'm sure you'll be giving and receiving lots of them the moment you can.
