How times have changed. Far Guy signed up for emails from the Post Office. He gets a daily email that shows a scan of what is in our mail box. I am not certain how that bit of technology works …but it does.

Hmmm, not sure about that but I know the VA generally sends an email telling us that meds are shipped. I get them on the day of or after delivery.
That sounds like a great idea to me. Saves you a trip into town, if all that is there is junk.
I'm not sure how it would work, either. But it seems like technology has figured it out. Hmmm. :-)
WOW! I didn't know the Postal service did this, that is so awesome.
Have a blessed day,
Sue
I love it. Especially since you can click on if you didnt get a piece of mail listed. And then you know to be home if packages are expected cause I live in porch pirate hell.
That is an interesting old photo. And what a cool bit of technology from your post office.
Well, that is cool. I had no idea they could do that! Unfortunately my mail is all junk mail. I hate for them to waste their time.
I signed up for that service as well. It's kind of nice to know if the trip to the mailbox is necessary on nasty days.
Wow! That is brilliant! I wish I had that for my mailbox--LOL! What won't they think of next. :)
That’s interesting. I had no idea. I sure wish I could do that with our mailbox. It’s two blocks away and with all the snow we’ve had this week I have not wanted to walk down there.
Blessings,
Betsy
Well, that's a new one.
Informed Delivery at USPS give it a whirl :)
Never heard of that
Well that is handy! We get a daily newspaper still, so that makes the trip to the mailbox worthwhile usually, although with our recent snowstorms we haven't had it delivered for 3 days.
I started doing that a few months ago. It's kind of neat. Once in awhile it doesn't work but it usually does.
That's pretty neat as you don't have to go to the p.o. to pick it up if it's just junk. Is this a P.O.box or a mailbox in front of your house? I would like that as I went out in the pouring rain to find junk mail.
It is called Informed Delivery. I use it and think it is awesome....our mailbox is down a long lane.....now I know what to expect and if I am getting mail or not. Just go to USPS/informed delivery to sign up.
That's a great old photo. I had not heard of this but what a great idea.
Wishing you both a peaceful evening.
Well, what's next???
Rural Mailbox, search for Informed Delivery at USPS
Informed Delivery. Hmmm. I'm trying to decide if I need it.
Interesting! What will they think of next?
I use it, too. Was not particularly happy to note, while enjoying our vacation in Hawaii, that a jury duty summons will be waiting when I get home. My third summons in 2 years 2 months.
I wouldn't mind going to a post office like the old Osage PO in the picture!
Amazing.
I will have to check into that notice - do you have to do an account for each person at the residence?
I understand how they do it but they usually don’t keep things on record as they scan them to sort them. The new program must pull the scans because it was asked to just for you. Otherwise the scan is not recorded at and is trashed after the item is sent to its designated bin.
Just for the address is my understanding:)
Interesting. I didn’t know the PO did that.
