Snow and cold again

Seems like the same old weather just a different day.

Pileated woodpecker

The big old Pileated Woodpecker has been flying in and out of the yard.

Far Guy talked to his Doctor, we are supposed to just keep on doing what we are doing.  Far Guy is much better if he can stay inside the house instead of going outside.

We have five appointments this week…unless of course we have a blizzard which is a possibility later in the week.

I saw my Physical Therapist yesterday, she says “Yes, it is normal to have more pain before you feel better.” Hamstring Tendon injuries suck.  The pain exhausts me, good thing I have no pain…or very little pain when laying down.

One day at a time.

  1. Ouch, what on earth did you do to pull the hamstring? 5 appointments! Oh I hope it all goes well for you.
Pain is exhausting and very wearing on a person in so many ways.
Hopefully you don't get a blizzard. I haven't checked our weather forecast yet this morning.

  2. Truly, one day at a time... and sometimes it's one hour or even one minute at a time. My prayers & good wishes are going out to both of you, Connie. Five appointments in one week sounds like hell on earth to me. *sigh* Love, Andrea xoxo

  3. Cold and snow arriving here again also. So happy Far Guy is starting to feel better. You just keep taking those naps so you don't feel so much pain. Good luck with all the appointments.

  4. The good thing is there is little to no pain when you're lying down. I think it's obvious that you should be doing that as much as possible. Boo to all those appointments. But yay to FG feeling better, at least a little bit. :-)

  6. Glad FarGuy is feeling better. I know the cold air is hard of people with asthma so I can imagine it has to be hard on him, too.

Your injury sounds awful...and one that would impinge on every thing you do...except lie down. Totally sucks! If you have to lie down often I hope you're getting some time on the couch watching some good shows to take your mind off it. ;)

  8. It’s cold and snowing here today too. Spring could come anytime and that would be fine with me. I’m sorry you’re still having so much pain but I am glad Far Guy is feeling a little better. It’s too bad you can’t just cancel all of those appointments and stay inside where it’s comfy. I’m praying for you both. Blessings, Betsy

  9. That is the kind of injury that you can have and not know how it happened. It is sleeting here. Not a good night with the dog. He is comfortable today and eating cooked beef. You two will be traveling in the cold many times with the schedules.

  10. Ouch! That injury does sound painful! I hope it improves soon and the physical therapy is not too difficult. Glad to hear Far Guy is a little better. Hopefully he can stay out of all that cold air. We are having a week of constant thin ice coating everything. Just enough to make that black ice you have to watch out for.

  11. Great pic of the woodpecker! Glad 'Nice Guy' is doing better. I'm starting to get why retirees head south for the winter like the birds. Brrrr! And I'm sorry you are hurt.

  13. I guess the fact that you have no pain while lying down is a thing to be thankful for. Nice to know Far Guy is feeling a bit better.

  14. We are not liking our frozen cold. I don't know how you endure your long winters.

  15. It really is a blessing you can find a way to just be and get relief from the pain. Temps here were down to the 30's today an was just a damp old. But that is still better than the cold we had last week.

  17. I agree, pain is exhausting. I hope you have someone to take care of all that snow so you don’t have to do that. Take it easy as much as you can. Sending sunny, warm, and healing thoughts your way ....

  18. How can Far Guy stay inside if they have 5 appointments lined up but I imagine they're not all for him? I had no idea you hurt your hamstring...how nasty is that at this time of year with having to trudge through the snow? Ouch! I hope you both can just kick back, watch some movies and recuperate! That's why you're so smart to have those 'freezer meals'! I need to make more of those...just in case! Take care you two!
