Snowy Weather

It snows every two or three days.  I had just caught up with snow removal before it started again.

The birds keep us busy filling the feeders. The Pine Siskins come in great numbers to the feeders.

I am drawing and knitting and Far Guy is woodcarving.

We are both tired of snow, but we are thankful that we don’t live in “the cities” …seems they got dumped on again.  We are also thankful that we don’t have to go out in the worst of it.  More snow is forecast for Saturday.

We had snow yesterday followed by freezing rain. So i am slipping and sliding again. We have really had a lot of ice this year - way more than inputs years. Looking forward to Spring.

We’re hoping to get outside today before the rain is back in the late afternoon. Charleston has flooding as do towns around us. But like i always say, you don’t have to shovel rain!

We woke up to five inches of snow yesterday, then had rain in the afternoon and evening. This morning there is ice. Hope there is slush and some clear areas before dark today.

We have a sunny day for our hike today, but none of our usual places are very safe to hike in. So we'll be taking stock and doing something today, hopefully it won't be too bad. I'll have my microspikes with me in any case. You sure are getting a lot of snow this year, it seems to me. :-)

We are still...well, I am still cleaning up after yesterday. Neighbor Justin helped a lot, now I just have some shovel work and a bit of snow to push around. I hope to get out the snowshoes ... and get some fresh air...yesterday we had fun with the kids who were home from school and all the dogs!

The best part of retirement is not having to leave the house in the snow! This year I am clearing the cupboards before going grocery shopping, leading to some interesting meals. But I think it will be my new tradition for February.

Well, my hyacinth are still budding out but after the freezing temps and rain and sleet we'll see. It warms up nicely once the sun comes out....I hear songbirds in the morning now! Don't give up hope!

It is a blessing to be able to stay at home and not have to fight the weather out on the roads/streets. Glad you both have hobbies to keep you busy.

Glad you can stay home and just enjoy the view outside - except for having to deal with snow removal. We have more snow on the ground now than we've had in recent years. And we're expecting more tomorrow. But thankfully we have beautiful bright sunshine this morning.

I’m so glad that you both have something that keeps you busy and occupied on the snowy days. I woke up this morning to beautiful blue skies for the first time in a long time, but more snow is coming tomorrow. Possibly heavy... whatever that means! We have lots and lots out there now I don’t even want to know how much. Stay warm my friend. Blessings, Betsy

We have sun today, but still lots of snow on the ground. That probably won't last as it's supposed to be in the 40s this weekend. But we know we aren't out of the woods yet. Snow is always a possibility right through April here.

Our storm front was forced north to the cities by dry air south of us. We still got four more inches but I am also so tired of having this much snow.

I think many of us are just getting one snow after another this year. The stores here can't keep enough ice melt in stock. Twenty-one inches at the snowstick is a lot of snow! What is your snowstick top record?

Pine siskins can come in large numbers . I haven't had the big numbers for many years.

I have not seen a single Pine Siskin yet this winter. It's so strange how they come some years and not others.

Glad that you two enjoy indoor hobbies for these snowy/frigid days. I love seeing the birds at your feeders.
