I found this photo when I was sorting through all my loose photos. It was taken in 1995. Far Guy and I had moved from the resort ( it sold really fast!) in Minnesota to Buxton North Dakota with our four dogs to our oldest daughters house until we could find and purchase a home of our own.
Friends from Indiana came up to the resort for a week and Uncle Art and Auntie Kathy brought them over to the casino in Mahnomen Minnesota so we could see them and go out for supper….Mahnomen was just as good of a place to meet as any as it was about half way for both of us.
Our Friends from Indiana (Bill and Joan) took this photo.
Me, Far Guy, Kathy and Art ( my cousin)
Kathy died on May 18 of this year. It was her birthday a few days ago she would have been 67…not sure how they work birthdays up in heaven…maybe they just celebrate your heavenly birthday…or maybe both days the day you left heaven to come to this earth and the day you returned.
I got rid of my sweatshirt and those horrid white jean shorts a number of years ago…my clothes hoarding husband still has that same sweatshirt….he still had
some a little hair back then.
Tough to lose a good friend, but those memories are fun to relive.
You all look so happy. It is tough to lose a good friend. I believe they celebrate birthdays in heaven; just not in the same way we do. Hang on to your memories.
Oh wow! I like the pictures! I'm sorry that you lost your good friend. The years go by so fast.
Looks like you all had a wonderful time! I bet she had a wonderful heavenly birthday, she got to look down on you all!
Twenty years ago and it was 1995? Where indeed does the time go? I like that picture of you an FG. I hate to admit it, but I still have some clothes from two decades back. :-)
The years do fly by ! Sorry you lost your friend but good to have the pictures and memories ! Thanks for sharing .
I'm sure the white jean shorts and sweatshirt were quite stylish then! It's sad that your friend passed away but lovely you have the good times to remember.
Good friendships are blessings to keep & remember in our hearts.
I've been to Mahnomen a couple of times.
I like seeing pictures of you and Far Guy. More, please!
Sorry for the passing of your friend. Makes me wonder about those birthdays in heaven!
Ah, 67, far too young:(
Nice to see pictures of you! Funny about the clothes. I could never wear white shorts, and rarely white tops. I felt like I couldn't touch anything, that I'd have dirty marks on them in an instant, and it just felt too restricting. Funny about the sweatshirt, Larry has one or two things from before we were married, or shortly after. One of them is a shirt I made, so he is allowed to keep that:)
I remember reading your post frorm May. It seems like yesterday. Good to look back from time to time and remind ourselves of friends. Love the white shorts!
Just look at that cute young couple, great photos. I too can never keep white clothes clean, I'm just messy!
30 years seems to do a lot to us. Picture comparisons can cause a little concern!
Fond memories. I can't imagine running a resort. My thinking on that was based on many friends who had summer cabins up north." How was the fishing this summer, Ken?. I'd ask . The answer usually was something like "Well I got the reshingling done after fixing the septic tank though putting in the dock wasn't to bad but then...... etc.
I didn't realize you had run a resort at one time. I like the photo but we sure do change in 20 years, don't we!!
Oh, I was wondering if Kathy was that Kathy. Understandably a wistful remembrance.
I have some vintage clothes as well,,,but no white shorts ;-). Although I think I might have had some jeans once now that think about it.
Interesting thought. If you die to go to heaven - do you die when you come to Earth?
You looked good in your white shorts! You both were looking good.
Sorry to hear Kathy died. How young 67 sounds to me! Too young.
You are a cute couple. One thing I really want is to truly enjoy every second of every day I have left in my life...it's running out.
Great pictures! Your Aunt was very young and I'm sure you miss her. You are a darn cute couple...still!
