Harvest Moon

The harvest moon is the first full moon after the autumnal equinox.

Chance and I went in search of the moon.  It was ever so faint during twilight.  It snuck up on us..it was not visible so I took some photos of trees etc..and looked at the river..then all of a sudden there it was.  It travels high in the sky quite fast.

Harvest Moon

I was expecting a large orange glob for a moon..maybe tomorrow night.

We were waiting over on the cemetery road..not much happening there..a real haze was in the air. Dust more than likely..it is real dry here.  The sun set quickly.

Sunset Sept 29

Not much traffic out on the road..so I stopped for a photo. The moon is right over our house!

One last shot..this one is for my Dad.  Why?  Because he told me that the moon would not be completely full for a few more nights.

Harvest Moon Sept 29

Looks full to me.  Did you see the moon last night?  If not you can catch it again tomorrow night.  Chance and I will be out watching for it! :)

I'm hoping to get down to the lake tonight for a few shots. Don't know how they will turn out as I'm still using my old camera. Your photos are beautiful. This moon isn't that glowing orange, as I thought a 'harvest moon' would be. I think that orange one is the October full moon! Will have to wait and see!

It was full last night. I was going to drive down to the bay and take a picture, but I didn't after all. Yes, it's a harvest moon. Nice pictures of it. I especially like the last one.

I've never tried to photograph the moon; perhaps, tonight is the night.

Great shots, Connie

Yes, I actually saw it and it looked full to me, too. These are great shots, Connie! :)

I kinda missed it too...the sneaking part where I waited and watched, and then all of a sudden...last night 99% tonight 99.9%.

I couldn't find it in the sky from the windows....but there are so many tall trees here, we need to walk a ways to get out and see it......

Any snow yet?

Whew! Thought I was the only one that had a very dim moon rising! Nice shots tho!

We had cloud last night so no moon watching. Evening is a good time to go for a walk and if you're patient some good photos can be taken.

We had a lovely moonrise here. I did manage some photos but not the quality I'd like.... time to go camera shopping...

So that's why it was so bright out last night! Hope you catch that big orange glob hugging the horizon tonight. Should make for a spectacular shot.
