Chance: I know who won!

Hey it is I Chance the handsome blogging Border Collie.  It is only 5 degrees F  or -15 C here this morning..we must have sent that below zero rotten ball playing weather south.  Yesterday during the walk to the mail box, I came back on three of my four legs.

This is where I wait and thaw out my feet..and nap..right in front of the door..no one can escape without me. That would be my bright orange ball launcher in the background..we shatter at least one a winter in the cold weather…so we try to remember to bring it indoors.

I guess I better tell you who won…

And the Winners are:

GramMary from the Fargo Forum sponsored blog, Far Side sent her an email!  She uses Multicolor lights!

Liz in PA please email Far Side your address. She won for her entry of Red Twinkly Lights!

Lanny who never wins anything..but should be basking in warmth at 48 degrees F ..I think I can sniff out your address. I bet her Ratters never lose their balls in the snow banks. You can find Lanny at It’s the Dirt.

Congrats to all!  Far Side will wood burn your name on the ornament and get them in the mail real soon. I wish I could personally deliver each ornament:)

That's very Border Collie of you Chance to sit in front of the door to better track your humans. On the job at all times aren't you?

I know Chance hates it when you escape and he doesn't notice. So he waits. Funny dog Chance. That is frigid weather you are having up there. We are having some extreme cold too. Stay warm.

No, Chance the Ratters don't loose their balls in snow banks! They float away! Matin loves to play in the snow, when we get it, but I don't think he would go out to the mail box in five degree temps let alone zero!

What a better way to win than to win here and have you, Chance, with that smoochie nose, tell me I am the recipient of one of those incredible carvings! Wow! What a way to wake up.

Well actually Chance, I woke up by Bet bounding into my room chanting that I had won! Our day, nay our week, nay our holidays! have been set. Even if we should float over the beaver dam and be whisked out to the wild Nisqually and then to sea, our day would still be the absolute bomb!

I don't mean to make this sound like bragging, because I would love to be cold and snowy, but fourty eight was where we started yesterday, it went over sixty here yesterday! The automatic vents on the greenhouse were open yesterday, it got up to 99 in there, just before the last of the monsoon hit, driving Bet and I inside. Then the cold front came in the middle of the night but the pineapple wouldn't leave so we had quite a wild night. It woke Dirt and I up, which is why I was sleeping in. Last night off our front porch it looked like an over the top movie set, a white out of wind driven rain.

I'll hate to see my Market Garden today, already yesterday a third of the beds were underwater, all of the pathways were underwater two days ago. Needless to say, the beavers got a visit from Dirt and Martin.

I'm glad to hear that your neck of the woods has warmed a bit, zero is just too cold. Does the ice and snow get stuck in your paw fur? Fluffy has a dickens of a time with it when we get cold and snow here. He sits on the screen porch (as close as he gets inside) and bites the ice balls off. I would think that Far Side would have found you a pair or two of boots, Sorrels for dogs perhaps? And in the muddy season, a lovely quad of red wellies? I could go for finding wellies for the ratters, the trick would be training them to wash them off before coming up on the porch, I can barely get Dirt to do that.

Well I better sign off, I'm just so stinking excited that I can't stand it! If I didn't know better, I'd say it was rigged!

Congrats to the winners. I walked Abby and Emmy yesterday, then had to clean the ice chunks out of their paws before I could let them onto the hardwood floors. It's almost as cold here (7) as it is there. Brrr!

Congratulations to the winners!!

We are freezing here too. A frosty 4 degrees this morning. All the gusty winds have blown drifts throughout the yard. It is hilarious watching Riley jump into them. We have had to shovel puppy paths for him to get around.

Hey Chance. I see you've been busy but please keep your eye on the ball when your outside. Those big gray looking fellas may remind you of an oversized friendly GSD like me but don't mess with them ...I think they're on steroids.
