The days are a tad dull and dreary so I have to look for bright and cheerful in my archived photos.
We really like our Primary Care Doctor in Grand Forks, we both have the same Doctor and he has hospital privileges so he saw Far Guy in the hospital earlier this month. It is a 2 1/2 hour drive one way to the appointment, we went the night before and enjoyed supper and a game of cards with Andy and Jen and of course Sadie who was so happy to see us. We went to our early morning appointments and were back at home early in the afternoon on Tuesday. Our appointments went well...come back in six months. We can cross that appointment off our list. I need to get an RSV shot...I read it is best to get it in the Fall...so I can wait until then.
The ride was not real comfy for me, we stopped several times and that helped. The jury is still out on whether I have a SI joint problem or an L4 L5 spine problem...none of the Doctors agree. I have another consult next week.
Far Guy is back on a course of antibiotics, hopefully it will get him over the hump and back to "his normal". Fingers crossed.

2 1/2 hours, is your doctor in Duluth or Fargo? I forget exactly where you live.
ReplyDeleteOur Primary Care Doctor is in Grand Forks ND
DeleteI sure hate you had to drive so far for an appointment but it is worth it for a good doctor. It is difficult to find those rare gems. Very thankful you have Jen and Andy's for overnight fun and rest.
ReplyDeleteThat must be an uncomfortable ride with bone issues--whichever they are. Liking your doctor makes a huge difference. Hope you both will be feeling better soon. Spring is around the corner. :)
ReplyDeleteYour photo sure is bright and sunny....Great way to lift spirits this morning.
ReplyDeleteFinding a doctor you like is worth the drive, isn't it.
ReplyDelete2 1/2 hours is a very long time to go for an appointment.
ReplyDeletewe've had sun now 2 days in a row...makes a huge difference from those dismal days..
ReplyDeleteOlditis sure gives us trials to bear. Glad you had a good result from your appointments; keeping you both in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteThat long ride sounds really hard, especially with back pain and no clear answers yet. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I hope next week’s consult brings some relief — or at least direction. Thinking of you, and wishing comfort in the middle of it all. 💛
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the doctor's appointment went well. I hope the antibiotic does the trick for Far Guy. The Harbinger of Spring is blooming in the wet woods in this area so spring is definitely on its way. My daughter teaches in high school. There is an exchange student in her science classes from the warm part of Spain. He can't wait. He thought our first warm day in March meant that it was now spring in Ohio. His classmates assured him that was Not the case. They told him farmers know the official frost-free date is May 15.
ReplyDeleteHey, you have a bed and breakfast when you go to your primary Doc! What a deal.
ReplyDeleteGlad the appointments went well. I do hope the docs can decide what is the source of your pain and offer some relief. Good luck to Far Guy with this course of antibiotics, too!
ReplyDeleteI got the RSV shot last year in the fall, it was a good choice.
ReplyDeleteSorry the ride sucked but now that is over and you don't have to do it again for a while.
FG...get better!
I have to chuckle, though it's not funny, about your spine-hip dilemma. I have been there. I have had surgeries on both. I just called my medical team because my hip flexor pain is interfering with my knee rehab. Some answers and solutions are hard to come by. Medicine is not as exact a science as we would like it to be. :-(
ReplyDeleteYou certainly found a bright and cheerful one!
ReplyDeleteThat's a long drive to your appointment, and an uncomfortable one at that. Nice that you could visit with Andy, Jen, and Sadie.
ReplyDeleteWishing you both well. So glad your appointments went well. diane in northern wis
ReplyDeleteGlad your appointments went well. I drive 1 /12 hours for my eye doctor which is tiring and it's hard on my RA....very stiff when I get home.
