Five days into the New Year and I finally decided on a one word intention for the year. Focus.
I need to focus on many different things and my list is in my head...perhaps I will share it in detail someday.
For now I am focusing on going through my photo files...I have so much to do...but I have to start before it gets so out of control that it will be impossible. Going through the photo files will help me with another project on my list...update the Grands photo albums. A Grandma with a camera has its advantages. I gave Paige a flash drive of her wedding photos...so I can cross that off my list.
You can see we still have a bit of snow. It has turned bitterly cold. The high yesterday was -1F or -18C eh. And it was windy...someone described it as teeth breaking, snot freezing cold. I cannot argue with that.
We had a quiet day yesterday...I made vegetable beef soup. Some was frozen for quick meals during the Winter. As I write this on Saturday evening Jen and Far Guy are watching Sioux Hockey, Andy is of town for a Robotics tournament and Sadie makes the rounds from person to person for attention. I am going to focus on my crochet project unless I get distracted by the puzzle.
Far Side
puzzles and hot chocolate were made for days such as this...
ReplyDeleteThat is really cold, all right! I thought when it got that cold, it wouldn't snow. And that's a good word for the year. I might steal it.
ReplyDeleteStay warm!!! We still have power this morning. It looks like Missouri got the ice storm we just have rain for now but they're predicting snow for later. I'll be crocheting this afternoon while watching the Chiefs football game.
ReplyDeleteFocus on things that bring you a little joy!
ReplyDeleteAn interesting choice of words. It seems to me, that you have a lot of focus in all of the creative things you do. As for me, I tend to hop from one thing to another and it takes me forever to complete any project.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Sadie is fun to hang with.
Sounds like a good word for the year. :) Yes, it's a really good time to be indoors with a project and a warm dog. -7 as I am typing at 11am. Brrr!
ReplyDeleteDistraction avoidance should be my phrase, I can't help getting distracted. I've sorted my files on the 1st day and now looking forward to warm day! Like 15 F...not too bad out of the wind.
ReplyDelete:)
I have to write my list of things down or they clog up my brain.....
You have many things to focus on. I would like the jig saw puzzle but I'll pass on the needle work.
ReplyDeleteKeep warm! I definitely struggle with focus lately.
ReplyDeleteFocus is a good intention!! I could use more of it.
ReplyDeleteFocus is a good word!
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh, I made vegetable beef soup yesterday too; and it's what's for supper tonight.
Wasn't that a shock, the change in temps!
ReplyDeleteBrrrr, it's cold here too! The big storm missed us by a measly 50 miles or so but we're all thrilled. We still have the cold and wind but just a few flurries that didn't stick. Hallelujah! There were plans made to cancel church if the storm really appeared but we didn't need to cancel it or the baby shower afterwards.
ReplyDeleteI like your word, focus. Another blog friend chose the word, wisdom. I could use some of both!
Tomorrow I have my MRI. I'm so excited that they may figure out my back issue.
Blessings and hugs,
Betsy
So nice to think of you two all cozy at Jen and Andy's place again. Lucky you!!!
ReplyDeleteFocus sounds like a great word for me too because I get so easily distracted, it's just not funny. Leaving the iron or the stove on and going up to make the bed forgetting all about them has to stop and focusing may help. Keep warm and safe.
ReplyDeleteThere are times I think it is impossible for me to focus . . . . . .
