Hello...hi...howareya?
This last week in January is dragging by, it seems like it has been a six week month.
Appointments this week have been changed...some delayed until next week...others scheduled a month or two out. Far Guy still has his usual Thursday Infusion appointment.
And so it goes...laundry, naps, cooking, crocheting, petting Sadie...repeat.
The weather is delightful...Sadie loved rolling around in the snow after her day at Doggie Daycare. She gave us a half hearted greeting when she came home today...she was hungry...all that playing with her Tuesday friends makes her hungry and tired!
Snow is melting fast what is left of it after a record breaking day...it was 41F or 5C here today which breaks the previous record of 39F.
Far Guy and I made pork chops with wild rice for supper ...one of those easy meals put in the oven in a roasting pan. The menfolk really enjoyed the meal. (Uncle Ben's wild and white rice, add a can of Cream of Chicken soup and a can and a half of water stir it up...submerge the pork chops and bake at 350 for 90 minutes...easy peasy) I have an oblong blue and white speckled roasting pan!
I am watching Night Agent on Netflix...the second season came out recently.

So glad your temps are getting above freezing each day. January is almost done!
ReplyDeleteThe food sounds delicious! And we aren't much more active here either...

I sure could use someone to cook just one or two meals for me! That would be so nice!
ReplyDeleteWe had noodles last night and I didn't even want any.
Our little bit of snow is nearly gone. Another warm day before we get cold.
Hope all the appointments work out and hopefully the weather isn't an issue.
We had a similar dinner, but it was turkey cutlets in the crock pot (I used home canned BBQ this time), wild rice and brussel sprouts. I love an easy dinner too. I declare, you are going to encourage me to get a dog again. Thank you so much for your posts about puzzles. We have put our first one back in the box, and will be passing it on to a daughter. We will be looking for a new puzzle very soon.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. January feels like a long month. Especially with the funky yo-yo weather we are experiencing. Without snow, I really look forward to Spring. Assuming your daughter Jen made that cheery sunflower.
ReplyDeleteI have the same blue roasting pan, and use it quite frequently. I may have to try your recipe. Yum!! It was in the mid 50s here yesterday. Crazy warm for January.
ReplyDeletePork chops and rice sure sounds good. We are watching Night Agent as well. I always need about 30 minutes of calming time after watching it, before I go to bed. If not, my mind races when I get in bed.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Sadie loves her doggie daycare day! That does sound like a simple, nutritious meal.
ReplyDeleteI'm for easy anymore. I would like to cook more, but I just can't get myself to get the energy. :(
ReplyDeleteIt's always a good meal when it is easy and everyone enjoys it (though maybe the women didn't like it as much?)
ReplyDeleteThe sun flower makes me think of summer!
That's one of our favorite meals too. it sounds like Sadie loves her doggie daycare. Our Chloe would have loved it too. Zoey is afraid of big dogs so I don't know how she would do.
ReplyDeleteI feel like this month has flown by. So many appointments and I've actually had a burst of energy to deep clean some areas.
It's 53F outside right now with brilliant blue skies. I even have the door propped open to get some fresh air inside.
Blessings,
Betsy
You're incredibly warm there.
ReplyDeleteIt all sounds good, especially the dinner.
ReplyDeleteEasy meals are what we all want. We're not big on wild rice but pork chops, rice and mushroom soup is a favourite of my husbands.
