Fog and stuff

The foggy mornings of November are here.  I woke up about daylight and it was really foggy..the light from the sunrise made it look really strange so I went back to sleep.  Nothing like avoidance.

We had a quiet day at home tending to a few things.  Laundry, a bit of cooking and various odds and ends.

Far Guy reports that a large deer was in the yard...possibly that accounts for an empty bird feeder either that or the bear was here.

Today we will collect some of the things out of the yard for Winter storage and we will roll the patio table to the garage, and return the snow shovel to it's Winter home by the front door.  A Wintery mix is forecast for next week.  I am just thrilled...can you tell?

  1. november is a gray month in maine as well..here in MD it is often gray and dreary all winter as we get more rain than snow...it's hunkering down time for sure...and how luscious is it to wake up and not HAVE to get up?

  2. Well, it had to come sooner or later. This morning we are having a beautiful sunrise with ground fog down here and I suppose up on the ridge with the full moon ! I'm too lazy to walk up there....

  3. We've had lots of fog in the last week or so as well. On election day when I got up the fog was dense I couldn't see the house across the street. I would actually welcome a little snow, mainly to cover up the rotting leaves that are triggering my allergies. LOL

  4. It's supposed to get colder toward the end of the month. We have limited time to get things done outside.

  5. Nothing wrong with a few quiet foggy days. Too many though and I start to get restless!

  6. It's gradually cooling off here too although it's supposed to be in the low 60's today. They keep adding and removing a wintry mix here next week too. One day it's in the forecast, the next it's gone. Then it's back. I guess we'll find out next week. :-)
I'm definitely NOT ready for snow though.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  7. Summer sure went by quickly for you all! When will you move to Jen's? Sadie will be super happy when that happens.

  10. My old cowboy friend said that 90 days after a heavy fog there will be snow (or rain in southern climes). So since we have had so much fog here since the beginning of November, February should have mega snow. Good thing we have that huge tractor for plowing!
The deer haven't been here much this season, but we still have cows in the yard, lots of their calling cards to avoid stepping in!
Hope you get all your winter prep done and that you are feeling better.

  11. I do enjoy the foggy mornings, but I don't have to drive in it, so that makes it easy to enjoy. Cooler temps are heading our way as well...and we have been doing the same...bringing in the pool umbrellas and other things out in the weather. I'm fighting a bad cough right now, so I been trying to avoid going outside...Must be the Ragweed. Have a beautiful weekend...

  12. We have had some foggy days too, but today it is sunny! With the recent light rain we even have green grass where usually we have snow by this time. Beautiful fall day. :)

  14. I have the same reaction to the "wintry mix" as you do. It's snowing here today, we've gotten close to two inches, but it seems to be slowing down now.
The deer and the bear likely make short work of the bird seed.

  16. It was briefly in our forecast earlier this week but I noticed was no longer in the forecast last night. In these days of global warming, we often have brown Christmas's and don't start getting that white stuff until after the first of the year.

  17. Very gray in Northern Ohio today. And damp. But I just read the first pages of "The Twelve Long, Hard, Topsy-Turvy, Very Messy Days of Christmas " and I think I have my new favorite Christmas book. I am going to recommend it to my teen grandkids too. Thank you so much for the recommendation.

  18. We are having morning fog, maybe because our weather has been unseasonably mild part of the time. It does make for a nice picture, though.

  19. Don't leave any liquids out to freeze and break containers! Putting stuff away for winter never ends.

  20. Whether we like it or not winter is coming. We had 3C last night, the coldest temperature so far this season. GM

  21. You are so good at getting things done and crossed off your lists. Sure hope we don't get that wintry mix when we have to drive for Thanksgiving! Take care, you two.
