Mailed and other stuff

I mailed a whole bunch of odds and ends AND this years Christmas ornaments yesterday.  It took the postal clerk about 30 minutes to deal with my 15 packages.  He said he hadn't mailed that many packages in the last six months.   The lady waiting behind me was not too happy.

We still have a few Christmas ornaments to hand deliver.

Back at home I gathered together all my lawn mowing garb threw it in the washer and washed my red boots off in the sink.  All of it including my hat will be stored in the old toy box until next year.

I got two pair of snowboots out and washed up a pair of crocs for the shoe drawer.  Also decided to get rid of two pairs of shoes from the shoe drawer...progress! ( Truth be told I still have one pair of crocs by the door just incase I need to slip them on quickly instead of my snowboots)

Listed a few more things for sale on Facebook Marketplace.  It all takes time.

My desk is full of "stuff" from upstairs...paper stuff...old stuff..."stuff" that my Mom kept..that needs to be sorted out...many things will find a home in the Grands three ring binders that I have been keeping for them.  ( I sorted things out for my siblings last Spring and my pile of "stuff" just sat upstairs.)   All that "stuff" needs a proper storage spot!

AND I am ready for the snow!  I can tell the snow is coming...change of weather is painful for me.

  1. When going to the post office this time of year, I fully expect a wait, especially if I go during a popular time which seems to be the first hour after opening or from around 3 until they close. That is why just yesterday, I hit up the post office at an off time, 1:30, to load up on stamps to see me through the rest of this year and most if not all of next year.

  2. I have been sorting old stuff from the garage and around the house for weeks now. I have collected a vast number of out of date power cables and all sorts of other things for recycling. It’s taking forever.

  3. Here in Canada the Post Office workers just went on strike. They certainly know how to pick a date to have the greatest impact.

  4. You are blessed to be able to share your gifts with so many. I am finding the holidays hitting a bit hard this year (again). I need to find more adult activities and more friends I think. Family just sort of fizzed off the charts. We accidently left two snow shovels out all summer. Whoops.

  5. When I have a big stack for the post office, I do ten and then get back in line and ten more...so I'm not causing such a hold up for everyone else.

  7. So sweet that you all use your talents to give at Christmas...I know that the recipients of the Christmas ornaments will be Blessed. Looks like you are well prepared for the Winter months and so organized. Hoping to see pictures of your ornaments at a later date....Happy Tuesday.

  9. We're in the midst of a postal strike here in Canada, so I may not send cards this year. I'm sure your recipients will be thrilled to receive their package.
We were expecting more snow last night, but instead got freezing rain. I'd prefer the snow ...but we're supposed ot get more of that later today.

  10. You have been very, very busy. I am so very thankful you have felt like doing the things you have accomplished - - - even with weather related aches. I am a weather predictor, too.

  11. We had snow in the forecast for tomorrow but it's gone now. We had heavy rain all day/night yesterday. I finished all of our Christmas cards Sunday after church. I worked on them for nine hours straight with just a short break for supper. They will be mailed the day after Thanksgiving. I'll have to go to the post office because I'm out of internation stamps.
I wrapped all Christmas gifts last Friday. It took all day because I had to wrap a couple and sit for twenty minutes because of my back. I hope things aren't too painful as you wait for snow.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  12. They are calling for possible snow here this weekend. Will it finally put an end to the gardens for the year? Hard to say!

  13. Good job on the seasonal transition. My husband has been working on the garage, but I just can’t get motivated to dig back into my photos and old papers to sort.

  15. Be carefully "quickly stepping outdoors" in your Crocs if it is a bit frosty. Last year my feet when out from under me. (On the wood porch no less!) I find the older the Crocs are the slicker they are.
No signs of winter creeping in here yet.
Our postal service is on strike! I have the kids boxes all packed up ready to go IF they reopen in a timely manner. I am still doing up the cards.

  16. Thankfully, I’ve dealt with nearly all of my parents’ stuff; now there’s my stuff to sort. I feel the change of weather in my knees.

  19. They're saying 1-3 inches of snow tonight. I'll believe it when I see it. Just been rain and wind for4 a couple of days. You really are on top of things! Nice to clean and pack away the summer things. :)

  22. The line at the post office made me chuckle! I have to keep my sandals handy to wear inside (even in the winter). Stay warm!

  23. You sure get a lot accomplished there. Good for you. I get tired just reading about all you're doing. Do you guys head up to your daughter's pretty soon for the winter? I need to write cards and wrap gifts soon. Just don't have the inkling yet. Take care, friends.

  24. I finished up with my outdoor fall chores yesterday. Mopped the garage floor and threw my outdoor shoes and clothes in the washer. Snow tomorrow!

  26. I am so sorry that the weather changes cause you pain. I know it used to cause my FIL so much pain when different fronts moved through and when the temperatures dropped below 40.
I have two sheds of Stuff of hubby's to sort. I've gotten rid of 4 totes of other stuff over the past year.
So hard to sort isn't it?
Hopefully the pain can be addressed...

  27. It's still nice here and there's still colors in some of the trees. It's nice they don't all change at the same time.

  28. I'm trying to get rid of stuff---it's hard, but so necessary

  29. sorting things is hard and time consuming...but it is worth it in the end. We got rid of so much stuff when we moved here. And it made me wish I had used some of it rather than keep it. because I was afraid of breaking it, or messing it up.

  30. LD.....I am looking forward to seeing this year's ornament. The weather is turning on me and I may not get my mowing done. Mowing leaves with snow on them just doesn't work.

  31. There is always too much "stuff" no matter what we do!
I get weather warnings too. We have winter now.
