Lilac

 Our Lilac is blooming.

It has more blooms than it had last year...some are in bud yet.  It needs a good trim after it has bloomed.

I cleaned the floor in the Desoto garage yesterday...Far Guy had Tilly out so she could get a new exhaust system.  I think perhaps she is ready for the summer now...except she has bug marks from the trip that need to be polished away.   I thought maybe she was so shiny and slick that the bugs would just slip off...well that did not happen.

  1. Hah! Bug juice seems to always find its way to the front of any vehicle!

The lilacs look beautiful. I sure do love their scent. We don't have any bushes right here.

We are in an elevated fire danger here today! No rain in nearly 3 weeks and the humidity will be 10% this afternoon. Yikes.

  4. I love the smell of lilacs. We had lovely lilacs at our previous house when we first moved in. There was one big "thicket" of them, with a big hollow area in the middle where my girls would play. It was their secret fort they said.

  5. Our first house in Spokane had a HUGE lilac tree. It was actually a tree, not bush, it was so big. I do miss that scent, it was heavenly. I laughed at the image of the bugs sliding off the car while desperately trying to hold on the the antenna, wipers, anything. :-)

  6. I do so enjoy lilac bushes. I've no room for one in my yard but luckily one of the neighbours has one nearby, along with an apple tree that is in full bloom too.

If it isn't bugs, it's elm seeds around here. My son's car is covered with the latter.

  7. Interesting that my lilacs were finished about a week ago. I thought they'd be on the same time schedule.

  10. Flying bugs and pooping birds have no respect for clean shiny cars.

  11. Your lilac is beautiful!
My Bloomerang lilac had tonnes of flowers, but they didn't last very long. That might be because of the heat wave we had. I look forward to next year when all three of my lilacs should bloom!

  12. That lilac looks like the one I had when I lived in Riverton. It always bloomed in June well after the traditional lilacs.the bush did not sucker like so many other lilacs.
