It was supposed to start snowing about noon and it began about 9 AM. Far Guy had an appointment at the Clinic, I dropped him off and ran a few errands. We were back home before noon when it began to snow really hard.
We had a quiet afternoon and a nap. I shoveled the walk twice. The second time I used my Power Shovel!
So far it looks to be about four maybe five inches of new snow and it is still coming down and blowing around.
June is looking like a mountain.
I can hardly wait to see what day two or day three brings.
My baby brother had back surgery in Fargo yesterday and reports that he has no more back pain which is a huge relief for him. He will be there a few more days in the blizzard. Glad his surgery was scheduled on day one of the storm as so many things are cancelled and roads closed.
Far Side
That is a huge relief for your brother! Back pain is such a...well, pain!
ReplyDeleteYikes, look at that snow. I think we had over an inch of rain and it came down hard last night. Apparently, that is equivalent to about a foot of snow?
I guess right now, I'm glad it was rain.
Hopefully you don't get much more.
Glad you got your errands and Far Guy's appointment out of the way before the storm hit properly, and that your brother's surgery went well. Stay safe and warm.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful winter wonderland. but I know you are very ready for spring to arrive. All our trees are "leaf-ing" now and the pine pollen has been heavy.
ReplyDeleteIs your husband feeling better?
Wow, June does look like a mountain! Not sure what a power shovel is, but it sure sounds helpful. Our area is cancel happy. Every time more than one snowflake falls, schools shut down. Even in the big little city, which was known for never closing due to weather. "Do kids even go to school anymore" can be frequently heard. They definitely are off more than in the past. Hard for working parents & bored kids.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to make it to/from the clinic safely! Hope Far Guy is feeling better.
I was curious. What is a power shovel -- unless that is what you call a snow blower? I've never heard of a power shovel before.
ReplyDeleteThanks for any info (and maybe a picture?).
June might be there until July 4th this year! I'm grateful we only got rain. Just north of us about 20 miles they got lots of ice, and the big snows all stayed west and north. It's cold today and windy.
ReplyDeleteGlad your brother had a successful back surgery.
Anonymous, It is a Toro Power Shovel that is electric. https://www.acmetools.com/toro-electric-power-shovel-snow-thrower-38361/021038383613.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjwuLShBhC_ARIsAFod4fKbS-yWFWXA2i5TP00ddJv_RKL5yEEEZ-SJHrezm_ufPvpsxFFSuu4aAkYpEALw_wcB
ReplyDeleteGood news for your baby brother - that is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAs for the storm, my language would be too colorful to post here. Darn this winter!
The sun is shining this morning and the sky is clear. I’m sure some bare ground will be visible before sundown.
ReplyDeleteWe got light rain. Today is overcast but no precipitation. It looks very pretty anyway!
ReplyDeleteGood thing you got FarGuy's appointment and errands run before the storm got worse and your brother had his back surgery, too. June is huge!!
ReplyDeleteJune May be with you til June.
ReplyDeleteJune is a Mountain!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for answering my question about the power shovel. Definitely something I need to check out as shoveling my driveway has become harder for me to do since I retired.
ReplyDeleteAppreciate you and your daily story.
Back surgery takes quite a while to recover from. I'm glad your brother's pain is gone.
ReplyDeleteWell, what can I say about that snow. I guess that's life in Minnisnowda.
Wow!
.
glad you are home! Also got a message from C that he was doing fine. see you after it clears up and if you are up to visitors.
ReplyDeleteI hope somehow it warms up everywhere for spring. I am glad your brother feels better.
ReplyDeleteSpring storms are some of the worst.
ReplyDeleteI am not at all envious of the snow! But a few years ago I probably would have been secretly.
ReplyDeleteGlad your brother's surgery was a success.
Stay safe in this latest storm. The snowbank isn't about to get any smaller just yet.
ReplyDeleteSure glad you're home safe and sound. Good grief....will the snow ever stop this year? We have some of June's relatives in our yard and surrounding area. Glad you got home from your appointments and errands before the roads got too bad. Glad your brother is doing well after his back surgery. Take good care, all of you.
ReplyDeleteThe storm will be done soon (I hope). Looking forward to a warm up. I just saw your brother must have been Monday. I hope he has good luck with his recovery!
