Crochet Projects

I finished one crochet project.  A shawl.  It was my The Bachelor/Survivor Shawl that I worked on last winter while watching TV.

Then I started another.

The yarn on the left will make a fine shawl.

Then I finished another shawl that had been in progress a long long time....it has to be blocked before I do a photo shoot of that one.  I picked yarn to replace that project and will begin soon.

Then I started on the baby blanket and it is coming along.  Slowly... but the baby is due in July so I have time.

My Mosaic project Winter Wonderland is coming right along also with my normal take along projects.  I have a small bag with crochet projects that goes with me to appointments.

Such is my crochet life.  Last week I enjoyed a parking spot near a bunch of happy Spring birds and  sunshine while I crocheted and watched people come and go.

It feels so good to finish something but it is often difficult for me to do. I am proud of your discipline.

I am loving listening to all the birds with my new bionic ears. That is a beautiful shawl! :-)

Nice you were able to finish up a couple of projects and make progress on others. There's always at least one project waiting its turn to get done, isn't there? But I always love that feeling when one project is completed and you're starting a new one.

The shawl is very pretty. I've never worked with the cake yarn, I think that is what it is called. It does make lovely variegated items.

Relaxing in the sunshine, listening to the birds, and crocheting sounds wonderful.

Having a Go Bag for knitting/crocheting at the ready is wonderful for filling waiting time during appointments. I know your hands are seldom idle. The shawl looks cozy.

I think crochet is therapy. It’s good for many things. Giving away what you create is also a lift up.
Crochet Relieves Depression
Depression relief is by far the most reported and studied benefit of crochet. The repetition of the crafts has been shown to release serotonin, a natural anti-depressant. CNN recently reported that “in one study of more than 3,500 knitters, published in The British Journal of Occupational Therapy, 81% of respondents with depression reported feeling happy after knitting. More than half reported feeling “very happy.”

Very pretty. I like the multicolored yarn for your new starts.
Listening to the happy birds is delightful! And seeing the brown grass again. :)

So many projects! I have one small sewing project in progress, or for now, lack of progress.

I am loving all of your shawls! They are just beautiful. I finally ordered size 4 circular needles (my set only went down to size 5) so that I can re-knit the hat that I knitted and it turned out too big. I have some yarn that I will knit into shawls too, but gardening may interfere with that until fall! Have a great weekend!

You turn out an amazing amount of projects. I don't do handwork but if I did I'd like to sit and enjoy the sunshine and the birds as I crocheted/knitted.

You do such a fine job of finishing up projects and beginning new ones. Wow....and your shawls are beautiful too. Can't wait to see when you finish that Norske afghan!

Those are great shawls. What do you do with all of them? Keep them to wear during your long, cold Minnesota winters or give them away?
I just started a baby blanket today for my best-friend who lives in Spokane. She just found out that she is expecting her first great-grandson. So exciting!
I always have a go-bag with a small project, usually socks ready to take with me for appointments, etc.
I really enjoyed seeing all of your projects.
Blessings,
Betsy

Those yarns are gorgeous...I really like the orange and yellow but I am noticing that I am transitioning to liking more blue also. They are all pretty. I finally crocheted a bit last night...some little flowers.
