We had notices on our phones that Snow Squalls would be moving through our area causing white out conditions. This is a new alert for us, something that the National Weather Service has just begun. Here in town it wasn't bad but out there in the valley it was most likely real bad especially since the warning came after dark.
Some people are enjoying snorkeling weather and sent photos poolside...I sent a photo of a snow bank.
Things are just going swimmingly here, some love tracks to clean up, a puppy to entertain, a kitty cat that needs to be saved from a certain puppy from time to time.
My blood pressure is up so the Doctors are adding yet another med. On a recheck the Nurse told me to sit quietly and go to my happy place and she would recheck my blood pressure in ten minutes...apparently my happy place causes me stress as it went higher instead of lower. Go figure.
Far Guy had an appointment with his Cardiologist in Fargo this week and found out he has some extra fluid in his chest...so he will be trying out a new med also ...as soon as it is delivered. His Cardiologist is hoping that it will make his breathing easier. We will see.
Far Guy spoke with his sister for a long time last night, she is becoming more forgetful ...but who among us isn't.

I started taking readings of my BP at home and I hand them in to the doctor. Anytime I walk into an office and sit down, my BP is up. It is the same way with hubby though, his first reading is always high and on his way out of the office he stops by a nurse who takes it and it is always much better.
Seriously, they should re-think how to do BP's.
All in all, it sounds like the critters sure are keeping you busy. Will you miss them?
No snow here this weekend. Just family coming in for my Grandson's Ballet performance with the Milwaukee Ballet. Have a great weekend. Hope the new meds work for you and Far Guy.
Sorry to hear you have more meds in your future. Glad to see "the kids" are having "fun in the sun"! Taking care of a puppy/toddler could be stressful....cute but stressful and a full time job! Glad you are in town and not out on the road! We're supposed to get snow today and tonight! Grass is green and flowers are blooming and now snow and freezing temps....go figure. Stay warm and dry!
That's what bothers me about Facebook, where I keep up with family. Many posting holiday photos, and it irks me, I must admit!

Snow squalls might add stress. Puppy love trails might add stress. Just getting your blood pressure checked definitely adds stress. I hope you and Far Guy are able to have a stress free day today!

My doctor calls it "white coat blood pressure". Mine can be fine at home, fine at the drug store, fine when my nurse daughter takes it and sky rockets in the doctor's office or hospital. When it is close to normal that the doctor's office, I am shocked. I like the idea of snow squall warnings. We are located between four highways and travel is much different the minute we cross the city border lines! We are supposed to get snow starting tonight. Depending which tv channel I listen to, we are getting between 1-7 inches. Living in the middle of larger cities all with different weather people, we are always on the edge of someone else's forecast.
When my husband was traveling for work most of the time, it seemed to never fail - when we had a blizzard at home he was somewhere warm. I would send him a snow picture, and he would send me one of flowers or a golf course. Now that I can finally travel with him - he hasn't gone anywhere interesting since Covid. LOL I hope the new meds do the trick for you both.

It almost seems rude to see the vacation photos when one is stuck in the snow and cold. But you know they are coming back and will share in the not so great weather.

I laughed out loud when you mentioned sending a photo of a snow bank! I’ve been getting some new alerts on my phone, too. I have a weather radio that sounds alerts as well. Take care - find a new happy place, okay.
I love that snorkeling picture! I imagine your snow picture helped them to enjoy their trip even more. They are fortunate to have loving grandparents to care for their fur babies!
I know I shouldn't have, but when you wrote "apparently my happy places causes me stress," I burst out laughing. Who knew? I rarely have high blood pressure anywhere. In fact, I take two BP medications for other heart issues and sometimes it's dangerously low. I have to be careful standing up quickly or standing in a line anywhere.
I think that Sadie is going to miss you something terrible. You're the one who is always there training her. Maybe you can sneak her into the car when you go back home. Ha!

Snow squalls!! Is there no end to your snow? Here it's a dreary wet day and rain is forecast for the foreseeable future ( 7 days at least). The good thing is I think we're done with below zero nights ( Celsius).
Just thinking about the doctors office makes my blood pressure go nuts. Fortunately we have a monitor at home where it is always fine. I’m sorry you both have more meds to take but glad they are available to make life better. Maybe it’s chasing that puppy that’s giving you high blood pressure!

Puppy will probably enjoy the new snow, but I'm sure the rest of you are tired of it.
My blood pressure is up at the moment too, not sure if I will have to go on meds or not. Its very annoying

Dog and cat sitting in the cold north. I visited my heart doctor. He is nice, Egyptian, and ran through the visit. He was behind schedule. I am ok for an old person.

Got my book today, Root Beer Lady. Must finish Ordinary Grace before I start to read it. Ordinary Grace is set in New Bremen, Minnesota in 1961. If you haven’t read it, I think you’d enjoy it. It’s by William Kent Krueger.

I've been a certain bo med for 20 years, started out to be formy permanent hot flashes, then found it help the bp. A year ago my previous doctor added a second blood pressure med, it made me too dizzy so had to stop. I feel better without it, oddly enough. I was told years ago I have "white coat high blood pressure" ... my bp only goes up at the doctor's office. Getting older... *sigh* ...yes, the body goes, the memory goes. It is tricky finding the ever changing right combo/dose of meds.
At first I thought snow squall was just a new catchier name for white outs, until we drove through the last snow squall we had. They come swirling out of nowhere and blind you just as fast as they go away. It was different than any extended white outs I've driven through where you are in it for a while.
Sorry to hear you and Far Guy are having some issues with your health conditions. Glad things are going well besides that.
