March Book Club

Yesterday was bookclub.  We read Root Beer Lady the story of Dorothy Molter by Bob Cary.

It was a delightful read, I enjoyed it very much, it is a true story that takes place in the Northeastern Minnesota Knife Lake area.  Knife Lake is situated in what is now the BWCA and Ontario's Quetico Provincial Park, it is half in Canada and half in the United States.  Fourteen lakes and portages to get from Ely Minnesota to Knife Lake...so it was no walk in the park!

We picked out four more books for the coming months.  Our group is up to four people now, two  more gals are suppose to be joining soon!

That sounds like an interesting book. I've been listening to Joanne Flukes murder mysteries on audio book while I drive or cross stitch. I'm on book three, "The Blueberry Muffin Murder". The first two were "The Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder" and "The Strawberry Shortcake Murder." Do you sense a theme here? They are really good though and well written. I think there are around 25 or so of the books so I have a lot more to look forward too.
I hope your Friday is wonderful.
Blessings,
Betsy

A good book club - how fortunate!! I do miss my book club friends, but most moved away over the past few years so we gave it up. That book does look interesting!

That book looks good. I have a photography friend that lives in Ely. Such a beautiful & amazing area!! You cruise through books. It take me forever to get through just one.

I found a painting that I did a long time ago and I couldn't think of the name of Grand Portage.I had painted in the area. Made my day and gave my brain a break. I enjoy Minnesota early times history. I could think of crossing but not portage.
