Square number 16 of 20 was finished this week.
Eventually it will get a border...and then attached to other squares with borders. I have no plans to finish this project anytime soon. I would like to get the designs in the squares done by April 1st...and maybe start on some of the borders. (All those little ends get encased in a border)
This wasn't a terribly hard design....I can see it in a large afghan with a dark background and the design rows in many different colors...maybe a stash buster afghan.
I have been resisting starting any more mosaic crochet projects until I make more progress on the two I have in the works.
Far Guy had to have many sticks again for his infusion this week....discouraging....he said at one time three different nurses were poking him with needles.
Far Guy's sister felt good enough to sit outside on the patio and call him the other day. She seems to have rallied for the moment...good to see her up and out of bed. She seems to be in less pain.

Ugh, that is terrible on the multi pokes. It is too bad they can't come up with a better plan and set up times with the one poke nurse/s.
You make crochet look easy. I wouldn't have a clue how to make that (or any) square.
Sorry to hear about all the sticks, but very happy to hear that FG's sister is doing better. That is a pretty design.
I love all your mosaic projects. You are so good at choosing colors....I have a hard time with that unless it's material. I'm so sorry Far Guy had so many sticks this week...ouch! Wonderful to hear Far Guy's sister is feeling better and able to get out side for a bit. Enjoy your weekend!

Hi guys! Prayers still coming your way Gene and for your sister. Glad you got to visit with her, even tho on the phone. Are you wearing lots of bandaids because of all the pokes!!! I am sure that hurts.

I really like that mosaic pattern. Glad you like doing the mosaic, it is very interesting to see what you come up with when you do it . I also like those colors you have chosen.
Maybe he is taking his sister's pain in sticks....you know he would do that for her.

Very unhappy about the multiple sticks. Are they training students? The last time I had labs they asked me if I minded if a student performed the procedure, as the student was already poking. I think she got it in one poke, but I am not sure what she poked or how. It took forever to fill tubes and my arm looked like it got hit by a baseball bat the next day. He needs to have an EXPERT!

Your mosaic crochet is so pretty. That will be one gorgeous afghan! I am sorry to hear about all the sticks Far Guy had to deal with. Have they tried putting a heating pad on first? When my brother was going through chemo they used that method to make it easier. He said it really helped.
Yes they try heating pads, he has his own also...sometimes it is just a bad day for all of them:(
Good news about FG's sister being more comfortable. Bad new about all of this sticks for FG. Good news that you have plenty of projects to keep you busy and creating.
I'm so sorry that Far Guy had to have all of those pokes again. Poor guy. He's sure been through a lot. I am glad to hear that his sister has rallied and is enjoying time with her family right now. It's so important for everyone.
Your mosaic square is beautiful. I can imagine how nice it's all going to be finished. Not having to weave in ends is a HUGE plus. :-)

Poor Far Guy. I imagine the nursesa feel pretty awful too, having to do what they have to do but being unable to find a vein.

So nice that far guy's sister called him. How awful that he gets sooooo many sticks. Why can't they figure that out? That's just miserable. Your new crochet project looks great....I love that square. I wonder how you keep all those projects straight? You are so talented.

I am so thankful that Far Guy's sister is receiving experienced care that is allowing her a good day! It's a definite blessing after how she has been feeling.
Good call on not starting another crochet project until you make more progress on the ones you're doing. Glad they're coming along nicely though. Great to hear Far Guy's sister was able to be up and about a bit. Sorry about Far Guy and the sticks though... I know how unpleasant it is when it takes several nurses a whole load of attempts to make it happen, and it must be even worse for him, since at least it's only every couple of months for me.
