In the box

One of the sculptures was replaced…perhaps the other one was sold.

Boxy sculpture

I was always taught that odd number groups were more pleasing to the eye…and looky that there are five big boxes and one small box…sends my OCD into overdrive. And what is that swirly stuff at the base supposed to be?

This is an unnamed sculpture…what would you name it?

looks like a bouquet of boxflowers. First ones I've ever seen. Tangled ribbons at the base??

Hmmm ... interesting. Hooray for the artist whose piece sold. A happy day for him/her.

I would look at it and then walk away. I find it curious but not worthy of much thought. It doesn't look like something I'd keep in my yard.

I didn't read the comments until I decided on box flowers and see that Pauline beat me to it. :-)

My first thought was lollipops. It's a curious piece.

I would also guess flowers with that wrapping stuff at the bottom. Or maybe a bunch of balloons? I’ve never been much into modern art. I prefer something looks like what it is. Ha!

'Looking outside the box'. Gets you wondering why the little box is there.

I've always been taught the same thing!

That little box is disconcerting for me, too. Since that seems to be the focal point for my eye I would call it "Stunted". LOL! ;)

I find it quite ugly and wouldn't want it even if it were given to me.
Don't have a clue what to call it.

Living in the midwest I would call it "Tornado" as that is what it looks like to me. I am also thrown off by the even number. Maybe that was the intention.

Bouillon cubes

Well it's a bouquet of flowers!

The base should have been an open box with the rods coming out of it as if they had sprung out of the box. The base and projected boxes are not congruent.

Linda Reeder said...

Interesting, somewhat pleasing. Maybe "Picasso Bouquet" because they are cubes? As in "cubism".

I kind of agree with both Linda Reeder AND Granny Marigold. Two extremes, ha. It is hard to get one's head wrapped around it, but the workmanship on the copper boxes is good. The bottom swirly things is our mind. I would call it "Thinking Outside the Box is Dangerous to Your Health."

I would so love to hear the artist talk about his/her work! Some artists are so full of ... bs!

I would name the sculpture "Little boxes made of ticky-tacky" to honor Pete Seeger.

I would name it "antennae". I'm not much for modern anything.
