We did it. The wood carving ornaments for this Christmas are all complete!! Yeah us! With less that 3 months to go!
There are 101 ornaments, I have 17 extra blank ones…one is for a new baby who will arrive in September a Great Nephew or Neice…we must wait and see.
I will give some ornaments away here on the blog as it gets closer to Christmas. Suffice it to say, they all started out alike as carvings but as they were painted each one became unique. I painted in batches of 12. Depending on my mood some are a bit wilder/more colorful than others.
I was happy to finish yesterday. We need four more hooks to accompany the carvings. I will pick up small Christmas bags and tissue paper when it comes out in the stores, package them up for giving and for mailing. Seven ornaments were completed, wrapped in Christmas paper and sent home with family that were visiting earlier this month.
Not sure what I will carve next…something in bark most likely. A smaller project. Something relaxing without a deadline.
Happy to hear the carving is complete. You and Far Guy really worked hard. can't wait to see some pictures as I always enjoy seeing the fruits of your hard work.
Looking forward to seeing what the ornament looks like, I know it will be special.
Can't wait to see them. Carving would involve me cutting my fingers to pieces.
You are amazingly talented. I will enjoy seeing what you have done
Kudos to you and Far Guy for finishing that many ornaments with lots of time to spare.
I will certainly get in I think a long line for the chance at one of your handmade beautiful ornaments! I have talent for other things and I worked for a while as an artist's model always amazed at what people could do but I envy your talent. I'm a Finnish half-breed - I have heard that is the best kind.
Wow - lovely!
OMGosh!! You are really on top of it this year. Still teasing us with not showing what they look like, though--LOL! Congrats!! :)
WOW! That was a huge carving project! You've been busy.
WOW you have been very busy. Happy to know that you are close to having your Christmas done. Can't wait to see them!
It is amazing you got them all done before September 1st! I could learn a lot about organizing my time from you. I can't wait to see what your design is this year. You two are so talented! Congratulations!
Some of the local big box stores are more than getting ready as they have Christmas items already out...
I'm anxious to see your design for this year! (The only snakes I like are garter snakes. They don't bite.)
Such a big project! I look forward to seeing what you have created.
You sure do get things done!!
Glad to hear you have completed your Christmas project. I'mm sure a few more projects will turn up before Christmas.
I'm getting in line, too, this year. I love that picture of all the colors you painted them. Now I want to see what you did, but I know I'll have to wait. :-)
You are keeping us guessing on the Christmas ornament. The paint spots seem to be of many colors.
Congratulations! I can't wait to see what you created/carved this year. They are always so unique and beautiful! You are so generous and I'm sure the recipients feel very fortunate to receive them!
