Woodcarving Flowers

Far Guy is working on a flower project ...a huge bouquet of wildflowers.  It is a work in progress.

Some painting has begun.  All the flowers get Gesso ...the white stuff.   Jen painted a few flowers and I painted a coneflower.

As you can see my Nordic Mosaic project is nearby...so I can keep Far Guy company.

Far Guy is feeling better today.   He started taking his allergy meds again.  Not sure if that made the difference or not but I am thankful he is better!

The Nordic project looks so lovely lying near. Always something to do when a crochet project is in the works.

That bouquet will be so gorgeous! Once again, I am so impressed with the talent your family has for creating beautiful things.

His wood carving is so amazing. Very skilled!! My cousin's husband is a wildlife artist (originally from Battle Lake MN), and he paints a lot of coneflowers in his bird paintings. They always make me think Minnesota.

The wild flower bouquet is going to be stunning. Far Guy did a great job of carving the flower heads.

Hallelujah! I'm so glad to read that Far Guy is better. I think allergies are going to be doozies this year. I'm already feeling them which is highly unusual.
The flowers are so beautiful. He is so talened and your painting is the perfect finishing touch.
Blessings and love,
Betsy

So glad he is feeling better! He does some amazing carving...a whole bouquet of flowers? I couldn't get over the dragon fly...he certainly is talented...Far Guy, I mean....not the dragonfly...lol!
Do you find the edging where you enclose all the yarn ends, difficult? Just curious as I thought it was a bit tough but maybe because I was working on that small piece?
Love the purple cone flower. The trees of some kind are flowering here and my Bradford Pear has white buds on it so any day now the blossoms will be popping out. It seems early this year.

Far Guy's flowers are very lovely. The coneflower that has been painted could be real. GM

Gesso is wonderful to seal a surface like canvas. So having you use it on wood makes sense. I admire all the flowers that he has carved. Projects can be so fun when you such wonderful results.
