Yesterday after Far Guy's infusion we left our daughter's home and ventured back to our home in the woods.
The further South we got the more snow we encountered. It is NOT an April Fool's joke either.
They got about eight inches of snow a few days ago.
What a wintery welcome. Everything was fine at home, so far anyway. We have hot water, cold water and the septic system seems to be working...all good things after our time away. Anna our snow shoveler removed snow for us! My other baby brother and she who sees robins first helped us unload the car...everything will be put away eventually.
Good to be home...but it is quiet.
Son In Law Andy got sad news; His youngest sister was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer yesterday and her Thyroid Gland was removed, she has two little girls ages 4 and 5 that are spending some time with Andy and Jen. ( When we left the house was full of giggles, running and playing.) Andy's Father Bob started Hospice this week, his Myelofibrosis has turned into Leukemia. Prayers are appreciated.
My Dad was admitted to a Nursing Care Facility yesterday about a one hour drive away.

So much sad news. Lifting all up. I have wondered for a long time what happened to Iggy who posted on your Forgotten Old Photos blog. That blog name stuck with me for some reason.
So sorry to hear all the bad news. Will keep all in my prayers. We had about 3 inches of that really wet snow yesterday. The Robins didn't look very happy at all. Glad you are safely back home and that all is well with the house.
I hope you see good good signs and good news today. Hope your mother is well.

Whenever returning home from a long absence, the best feeling is seeing the house still intact and standing as I drive up to it followed by the second best feeling of having working utilities. I always love the quietness of home after an extended absence.

I'm sorry to hear of the challenging issue your family has. Rather amazing that they put your Dad so far away.
I am sorry for all the bad news. I hope your being home will be an easy adjustment even though you were living in a bigger family. I bet you squeezed Sadie in a suitcase and they would not notice she was gone.
It's always good to get back home. Winter is not wanting to let go anywhere this year! I'm sorry to hear about Andy's sister and Father. There is so much cancer these days. I hope your Dad is improving from his illness. You are all in my prayers.

I'm sorry about all the sad news. One can only hope for the best possible outcome in each case.
The snow we had yesterday morning is already gone. It sure helped the grass, you can actually see touches of green. I'm glad Sadie has some little girls to play with because I'm sure she's missing you both.
Andy's family is sure having more than their share of bad news. I will definitely be in prayer for them all and your Mom and Dad too. I'm sure it's really hard for them to be separated after all these years.

Welcome home! I can imagine you will be finding it very quiet after being with others, but there really is no place quite like your own home :)
Such sad news! Prayers are forthcoming for all. Does this mean your Dad will not be home again? That quite a distance for your Mom to visit him. No more bingo? Really n ot a very "welcome home"...I'm so sorry.

So glad to hear that you made it home safely. We have a ton of snow and ice here too....no signs of Spring around. Praying for your dad....that he an regain his strength and get back home again very soon. Praying for Andy's youngest sister...friends that I have known with thyroid cancer have all done very well and lived long lives...I will pray the same for her. Praying for Andy's dad too. And how is far guy's sister doing? Prayers for her too.
Glad you made it home okay. It always feels good to be back home after a time away. Hope your dad rebounds quickly and is soon back home. Keeping those with health issues in my prayers. We didn't get nearly that much, but we got a bit of snow as we headed in to April too. It was only about half an inch, and it didn't stick around, but still. I think I'm the only one who was glad. LOL!
