The Christmas Quilt

My Mom and Dad gave each of us a Christmas Quilt for Christmas.

Mom worked long hours to get four quilts made.

The backing is a soft plush fabric.  Mom takes all of her quilts to my cousin Wilma to be machine quilted.

The Christmas colors are so beautiful and cheerful!

We had a quiet day yesterday with a bit of laundry, puppy sitting and naps.  Far Guy is about the same, he ventured upstairs for supper ( Smoked BBQ Ribs, Potatoes and the rest of the "salad") and to watch the Hockey game.

Wow! What a beautiful quilt, and the amount of work that went into it is phenomenal. The creative gene is strong in your faily.

The quilt is so beautiful! I read back a bit to see what was going on with Far Guy, I'm sure glad to read that he is home and recuperating now. I'll be by to visit again soon. :)

You know I love a Christmas quilt! To have one made by your mother - how special! That woman amazes me. How in the world was she able to make all those quilts! I feel very inadequate, lol. What a treasure.
I have to say, those ribs, potatoes and "salad" sound pretty good! I may have to revise my supper menu.

Your mom did a beautiful job on that quilt. What a fabulous gift to treasure. If FG ventured upstairs this week he must be feeling a little better. Hopefully he keeps improving.

Very nice quilt! We travel to Berlin, Ohio almost every year where we are able to tour many Amish quilt stores. I love to look at the different designs.

That quilt is gorgeous! What a wonderful gift. I have made a quilt for each of my children and grandchildren. I'm making smaller items now as I machine quilt on my sewing machine and that takes some time.
The BBQ Ribs would have called my husband upstairs too! I bet it was nice for Far Guy to have a change of scenery.

My mom had quilted all of her quilts. I do know if she had the option to have someone machine quilt them she would have jumped at the chance. Your mom is such a great quilt maker. Her choice of colors and designs are so wonderful. Sewing them all together would have taken a lot of hour of sewing at the machine. What a wonderful gift. We now use the one that my mom made for our wedding 38 years ago as a bedspread as it is worthless sitting in a drawer.

Your mother is an amazing woman. Four quilts! I don't have to tell you that takes a whole ton of work and I know she put her love into each stitch. I'm sure you will treasure this quilt for the rest of your life.
It's wonderful to know that Far Guy is feeling well enough to venture upstairs with the rest of you. Your activities yesterday sound good to me.
Blessings,
Betsy

Beauuuuutiful Christmas quilt! I love the idea of plush fabric on the other side. Are the flowers, birds, leaves, etc. embroidered or are they fabric also? Lovely work!

The quilts are gorgeous and what a lot of work. I only made one and I still haven't finished it. that is nice that she has someone to quilt it for her. That's the pricey part besides the material.
So glad Far Guy was feeling well enough to go upstairs. Of course, with the smell of that meal, I would have crawled on my hands and knees to get to the table!
