Here is my glass hoarding collection area. All this glass was bought at garage sales or given to me by friends!
Far Guy gave me an area in his greenhouse/woodshop where I can spread “stuff” out and decide what goes where.
I wanted to make a few glass towers.
I made this one and gave it to Jen…that is one of her creations on the left.
It is a fun way to use chipped glassware. It gives me something to search for at garage sales.
Nice collection! I collect old jewelry. You know, the kind of sparkly stuff the old ladies wore in the 50s or 60s with big old rhinestones? I hang them in the garden to catch the sun and surprise me when I'm picking peas or something. Clip-on earrings and pendants are the best. They are not so easy to find anymore, though.

ReplyDeleteI love your creation and also your daughter's. The old saying "use it up, make it do, throw it out or buy it new" ...I think we grew up with that motto...now they call it "re-purposing". Regardless, I think it's wonderful.

I love the fact that you have a place to spread out all the glass, try things out, work with it, and you don't have to stash it all away when you're done. It's all right there, inviting you back to do another project!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a fun thing to do. I was looking closely to be sure you weren't drilling into one of my favorite antique glass pieces that I own....... and yet it is just old glass. I cut the legs off of a old library desk and I still don't regret it as it is our coffee table.
