Shopping

Shopping is not an activity I like but sometimes you do what you have to do during the long Minnesota winters.

First stop Craft Supplies!  Some of my paints had either gotten all chunky or partially dried up.  I also need a bead crimper and some beads to crimp for another project that is still in the design phase real deep down in my brain.   My brain is a cluttered place…so many projects.  Many started…non finished.

Second stop Guns!  I am looking for a small handgun….I wanted to see what they had and how well they fit my hand.  I found one that may work for me, it has a pretty red trigger.

I have an antique five shot revolver…my other baby brother looked at it and declared it unsafe.  I shot it about 30 years ago….seemed safe enough to me back then, I pulled the trigger and could hit the target and didn’t blow off any important body parts like thumbs, fingers, hands or feet.   Between my other baby brother and my husband they have convinced me that I need a new hand gun.  So I am shopping.   I need something with a clip, to quote my brother “Sis you better be real good at loading those shells in a revolver because if you aren’t real fast someone will take that gun away from you and shoot you.  You need a gun with a clip.”  Alrighty then.

One step at a time.  I am also shopping for a light weight shotgun that I can use for Skeet Shooting.   I am not any good at it but it is sure fun to try.

Happy gun hunting. When I went I found that it was very important to find one that felt comfortable when firing it. What feels good to one person doesn't to another. that said I won't give you any advice. Personally I prefer a revolver as I have trouble pulling back the ejector on a pistol. But again, that is just me. Tried a shotgun, but the recoil does a real job on my shoulder. Do you think I'm getting old or what? Have fun shopping and have a great weekend.

A pretty red trigger? Now that's something I never thought about. Hope you show us a picture of it when you finally decide on one. :-)

My aim with handguns is not very accurate though I ONCE blasted a pileated wood pecker sized hole in a aspen in Montana. I definitely killed it with my brothers Clint Eastwood Magnum 44. I personally prefer my 12 gauge double barrel goose killer which I keep in the closet next to my bed You don't need real accurate aim with it to a lot of damage against intruders and marauders like coons, feral & domestic cats, or the occasional Issus terrorist . Fortunately the one time at one in the morning I heard voices in our tuck under garage, I woke my wife up to call 911, thought about my shotgun, but chose to leave it in the closet, & went downstairs to confront the intruders. It turned out to be three half drunk 17 year olds intent on 'toiletpapering' my pickup truck.....

Some of the revolvers at the gun shows are really smart looking now. I don't own a gun, but several of my good friends carry them with a license. I've tried shooting, but I need lots of practice. My daughter tried to get me to take the licensing course, but I passed. Even my 7 year old grandson shoots a shotgun.

Fun. With a title like shopping, I thought maybe you were off to look for a pair of comfy shoes, or maybe a gift for a grandchild. You certainly have hidden depths.

Hey Connie! It's been a while since I've stopped by but I know you paid me a visit not long ago so I wanted to return the favor. I share your aversion to shopping, yet I, too, must get over it from time to time. God bless you in the weekend ahead. I hope it brings refreshment, and not too much shopping!

You are doing fun shopping - - - crafts and the gun. I detest shopping for clothes. Stuff on the hanger always looks better there than when I put it on!

Now gun shopping is probably one of the last things I would have figured you were doing. Interesting.

While I grew up around guns, I don't think I'd ever purchase one for myself.

We keep a loaded shotgun near the front door and one by the bed. Out in the country like we are, you never know what might happen in the middle of the night. Poppy bought a pistol with a holster and belt for me to wear when I'm home alone and out feeding the animals. I'm scared to death of a gun and most of the time forget about it.

I lived alone for over 20 some years (most of those years in the country) and have never felt the need. My girls are my "early warning system" and I've never lived anywhere where I was afraid. If I was I guess I'd move. Although nut cases can be found anywhere nowadays. I do have more guts than brains though and I chased several people off my property hunting while they stood there with a gun and I had nothing but my big mouth...of course they didn't know I didn't have a gun or that my Rottweiler wasn't an attack dog. Ha! Ha! My kids say there's something intimidating about me. LOL! I figure when my time's up my time's up. They say "the good die young" so I'm figuring I'll probably live a long, long time. LOL!

Hey, stick with the craft supplies. What's a bead crimper? I know what a crimper does but with beads?

Best wishes choosing a gun. I would love shopping for crafts. Our town is building a new Hobby Lobby - one of my favorite craft stores! Visit me at my new blog.

There's a skeet shooting place down the road from us here. It sure is a popular place on Saturday mornings!

How can you not say shopping for craft paint isn't fun!! Guns, on the other hand...I can't imagine at all. Can't imagine a red trigger, but that intrigues me.
