Someone is 65 today and should have his Medicare Card but he doesn’t. Whilst checking on our Health Insurance site yesterday we discovered he has been dropped from their enrollment…but I am still there…go figure. The last couple of weeks Far Guy has been walking around mumbling “This country is just moments from imploding upon itself.” I am beginning to believe him. I swear Tuesday heads will roll…and he better not get sick and require Health Care whilst he is in this no mans land of no Medicare and no insurance. All the automatic refills for his medications have been discontinued also. How long do you think that will take to get straightened out???
I told him to try to relax and have a good weekend. He is doing his best…but those Type A’s MUST worry. What a freaking mess. What was supposed to be all automatic sure is a pain in the butt.
Well anyways..he is older. We may go out for supper to celebrate his birthday.

Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday Far Guy!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my world of government control on the people that worked for a living.
Cheer up God Loves You, even if our government doesn't.
Another member of the Kafkaesque world of retirement. My Medicare and health insurance have been caught in the web of government since September, although older friends have assured me it will eventually get sorted out.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you have that worry, and it's hard not to worry when you find yourself uninsured. Happy Birthday to Far Guy!
ReplyDeleteAwww -- happy birthday to the lovely Far Guy!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Far Guy about the shape of our country! I love Patsy's comment. I too am waiting for my Medicare card. I could have signed up a few years ago but Poppy still works full time and we had good medical insurance through his work. However, since Obama Care we're paying a lot more for insurance and getting a LOT LESS coverage...so I've signed up for Medicare. It's crazy! Oh, Happy Birthday Far Guy!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Far Guy.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Far Guy! Have you tried going in person to the nearest Social Security office? This is a terrible situation!
ReplyDeleteShirley H.
Hi Shirley, Yes we have.
DeleteHappy Birthday Far Guy. Have a great one.
ReplyDeleteNow it's gone from inconvenient to possibly expensive and dangerous! This is not good. Definitely time for heads to roll. So sorry this is happening to you. Turning 65 should be a good day, not clouded with worry.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Far Guy.
Happy birthday, Far Guy! This should be worked out, hopefully sooner rather than later. But his birthday deserves to be celebrated in a positive way. I know you will do that, Far Side. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Far Guy. It's a real bummer when a guy who has served his country is written out of existence. I hope they at least give you back all the tax you paid over your life time.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Far Guy. Enjoy your big day. Sure hope this Medicare stuff gets straightened out real soon
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday indeed. I find talking to "robots" to solve these kind of problems more than infuriating. At least swearing at a human about them involves a slight degree of satisfaction....:)
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying ypur blog! Going back to read past posts. I am so sorry about the Medicare Mess! I enrolled in September of 2013 and escaped the Obama Care Confusion. Here's hoping your husband's situation can be set to rights very soon!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Far Guy! Wow, what a mess, hope it gets sorted out...like yesterday! Thank goodness we don't have to deal with that here.
ReplyDeletewell, first message comment didn't take so will try another. hope it won't take long to get his medicare straightened out. what a mess. see you soon
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Far Guy. Hope this long weekend glides by uneventfully! Other than good times, of course ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy birthday to FarGuy! Our government can be like a nasty, selfish toddler. You have to plead on deaf ears and eventually pry something out of its surprisingly tenacious grip in order for it to give anything up. But when it wants something you have...well, it had better be handed over right this very second or you will deal with threats, temper tantrums, and dire consequences. You could even get bitten in the process. ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Birthday Far Guy! I hope you get the SS Medicare issue taken care of. That is absolutely ridiculous! And what if something happens while you are "inbetween"? Those people get good money working for the government and better benefits than most of the rest of us so why is it such deplorable service? I pray it will all get worked out so you can enjoy your birthday. You do know that the older you get the longer you celebrate. I'm still celebrating and my birthday was at the beginning of January! LOL!
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy Birthday wishes to Far Guy! Hope the Medicare snafu has been sorted out because we also dealt with similar issues when we moved.
