Staying busy

We got some snow…finally.  I was too busy cleaning kitchen drawers and cupboards to get a photo…between that and watching the last of last seasons Blacklist and a nap the daylight was shot.

It turned cold and the wind is wicked.  I went to a meeting with Far Guy just to make sure he didn’t run off with some other gal who likes to cook keep him company.

I think I have the taxes ready to go to the accountant…one more go around and I will be done with them.  Yeah for me.

Bought some of those Superball 500 Million Dollar Tickets…so now I have Island Homes and other nonsense on my mind.  Lets see a home in Hawaii, maybe another in the Bahamas and a summer island home up on Lake Kabetogama or Namakan …maybe with a houseboat on the dock.  AND a new Dodge Charger…red.

I finished Jen’s bracelet and a couple of other “special” bracelets and got them in the mail.  I should have taken photos of the finished projects…but I didn’t.

Far Guys Medicare Card is supposed to be in the mail…they said it could take up to four weeks…they must have a mail room that sucks.  After six months Social Security finally changed our address…talk about slow movers.  We talk to them just about everyday….I am certain that we have a phone log record a mile long.

  1. Oh those darn taxes I have mine ready now too. A house somewhere warm now that is a nice thought. It is going to be very cold here tonight again. We have lots of snow. Ordinary life is busy isn't it?:) Hug B

  2. Really? Four weeks? How is that possible? I hope you get this all resolved soon. I'm still working with TurboTax to get my taxes completed, actually still waiting on a 1099 from brokerage firm. Your petunias are really beautiful, such a great idea of your parents.

  3. We got a little snow over the weekend. Now we have the bitter cold along with high winds. Our taxes go to the accountant on Monday. Hoping for some kind of refund however small. Yay, Far Guy's card is in the mail. Glad I don't work in their mail room - that must really blow. Keep warm. Love the picture of the petunias.

  4. One of my favorites in the summer, Petunias. I have a feeling that we are going to have snow for quite some time. I just finished our tax papers for the accountant. Good feeling to have them done.

  5. Thanks for the petunias - they were sorely needed since we're now at almost 3 feet of snow in two weeks.
Bureaucracy - I hear you. I switched to Medicare in September and while someone is now taking money for it from my Social Security, the Massachusetts retirement people have failed to change my retirement check accordingly. I think I'm now out about $500 and counting. Looks like my day will include yet another phone call to them.

  6. Glad you are staying warm and busy and as for the mail - well with all the crappy weather East I noticed anything coming from that way that I've ordered is delayed a week! :)

  9. Just delivered my tax info to the accountant, so that chore is done.

Mopping the floors today and moving furniture - such fun tasks. I love the Blacklist and always speculate what is going to happen next. There have been a lot of twists in the plot recently.

  10. Doing our taxes in a couple of weeks. I always leave unhappy. I guess I won't expect anything but bad news and it might all turn around this year. I worked a lot less in 2014. The wave flowers are so neat to see. i just never have grown any of them. That is a great show in the old wagon.

  12. I like the Blacklist too. We got a few minutes of snow today and it has warmed up a bit. I can't believe how messed up your Medicare is, so sorry!

  14. I wonder what would happen if you were as late with your taxes as the government was with that Medicare card...

  15. Bummer on the Superball this time, eh? I love it when I see gads of flowers in wagons. I have seen them in old pickup trucks, but sadly the townhome association would frown on either of those options.

  16. Oh Connie, not loving this tax time...but love the flowers in the wagon, yearning for Spring, so damn cold here right now. blessings Francine.

  17. You couldn't be happy with $500 million. It would mess your life up completely. Just think, you couldn't be crabby any more and that is your joy in life! Good luck!

  18. Some lucky people are sure smiling right now. I'm glad there were more than 1 winner as that is more than enough money for any one person to spend! (although I'd love to try...lol!) Love the flowers in the old wagon...it makes a very pretty picture!

  19. The good thing about not making much money is a quick jaunt to the tax man. In our case, the one over at the Senior Center. Done before I even left for Turkey. I'm missing home and wanting to come back, but I still have five more days here. Sigh.

  20. Oh, that's right. Taxes. I had forgotten all about them. Iguess that will be next week's project. I do my own.

  21. Scribes could handwrite each card and letter for Medicare and bring it there by donkey in four weeks.

  22. You are so funny! But I see these old women around here the minute some woman dies they swoop in like eagles on the widow husband with they're casserole dishes....what's that all about? Really? You'd think they'd know better by that age. LOL!
I laughed at Rita's comment too...good one Rita!
