Someday Projects

I finished the photo frames, yes I painted them and then sealed them and put in the new photos and hung them up.  Cross a project off the list!

I “found” another frame upstairs it doesn’t match exactly…oh well.  My OCD is controllable some days.

I decided on a basic brown paint, I may switch the accent colors in the bath from green to brown sometime over the winter.  I like browns…brown is an easy color.

Permit to carry

Finally got my permit to carry in the mail.  In Minnesota they are good for five years.  This was something I wanted to accomplish since last winter when we purchased my new handgun.  Far Guy has his Permit to Carry also, we took the class together…he is a better shot than I am, but with practice we will both get better.  We learned a few things in the class….so it wasn’t a total waste of time…I could have done with less stories.

Summer is 2/3 over, August is usually our hottest and driest month of the year.  So far our grass is still green and growing.  I mowed again yesterday mulching up some of the leaves that fell in the gale force winds the other day.  I also weeded our itsy bitsy flower bed.

I was able to complete a few more Christmas Ornaments, the count now stands at 49.  Progress is slow but sure.

Bang Bang

Let the target practice commence!

I have been waiting for my Permit To Purchase a Handgun to arrive.   It finally came in the mail yesterday.  Both my other baby brother and my husband said “I bet they are reading your blog to find out what kind of radical you are.”

Ruger Pistol case

Since I had the little beauty that fits my hand so well all picked out it was just a matter of doing some more paper work and paying the bill.

I opted for the Crimson Trace which is a laser sight.

We headed over to my other baby brothers shooting range.  He spent some time with me and gave me some pointers.  I hit the target several times from 25 feet away!  The gun handles well and I am practicing getting used to it.

I will be attending a Permit To Carry Class sometime in the near future.

Red Trigger

Here is that pretty red trigger that I mentioned in an earlier blog.

I am pleased with my selection.  I am a supporter of the 2nd Amendment, and I will exercise my right to bear arms.

Shopping

Shopping is not an activity I like but sometimes you do what you have to do during the long Minnesota winters.

First stop Craft Supplies!  Some of my paints had either gotten all chunky or partially dried up.  I also need a bead crimper and some beads to crimp for another project that is still in the design phase real deep down in my brain.   My brain is a cluttered place…so many projects.  Many started…non finished.

Second stop Guns!  I am looking for a small handgun….I wanted to see what they had and how well they fit my hand.  I found one that may work for me, it has a pretty red trigger.

I have an antique five shot revolver…my other baby brother looked at it and declared it unsafe.  I shot it about 30 years ago….seemed safe enough to me back then, I pulled the trigger and could hit the target and didn’t blow off any important body parts like thumbs, fingers, hands or feet.   Between my other baby brother and my husband they have convinced me that I need a new hand gun.  So I am shopping.   I need something with a clip, to quote my brother “Sis you better be real good at loading those shells in a revolver because if you aren’t real fast someone will take that gun away from you and shoot you.  You need a gun with a clip.”  Alrighty then.

One step at a time.  I am also shopping for a light weight shotgun that I can use for Skeet Shooting.   I am not any good at it but it is sure fun to try.
