A Mother’s Love

Who am I in awe of this week?  Stephanie Decker in Indiana who almost gave her life for her children during the tornado.  Those children will always know that their Mother loved them so much that she would die to protect them.  If all Mothers were like her, the world would be a better place.  She is a hero. Her parents must be very proud of her and her children must feel very special:)

I too am in awe of what she did. I hope her community recognizes her in some way. What a "statement" she made to a mother's love for her child.

In case there are some of your readers who don't know what she did, she protected her children and lost both of her legs while doing it. You are right: I am also in awe of her bravery and glad she will survive.

Ditto - I am in awe of her. Her composure on TV was wonderful. The fact that they all lived through it, after seeing that nothing remained of the house, was a miracle!

Yes, yes, yes!!! You have to commend Miss Stephanie for sacrificin' all for her children.

I know I'd fight off a grizzly with a stick for my kids and grands.

God bless and have yourself an incredible day my friend!!! :o)

In these days of horrible mothering stories, this one is heartwarming in showing a mother's love. Her children will always know how much their Mom loves them. I hope they don't feel guilt as they get older.

They should celebrate her, instead of all the vapid celebrities they love to worship. What she did was amazing, those children are alive today because of her.

That story is something else. So many lost their lives. I can't begin to imagine how terrible it must be to be in a storm that bad.

Somehow I missed that piece of news. So glad you brought it to my attention. What a brave, wonderful mother she is. Such a blessing to her children and apparently everyone around her.

For me to just go through one of those storms would be a miracle. then to protect others is a bonus.

As the nightly news attests, not all mothers are dedicated to their children. This young woman needs to hear what a good mom she is.

That was an amazing act she performed.

Love the cone flowers - hope to see them soon!

That story touched me too. When God created mothers he had one just like her in mind.

I've always thought I'd do the same thing. I can't imagine any mother or father not giving her life for her kids in the same situation. But then again....there are parents out there who choose themselves every day (drugs, violence). So, maybe that mom really is truly amazing.
