Monday February 21, 2011

It started snowing here sometime early this morning.  Chance and I went out and took some photographs of the beautiful event early this morning..then we went back to sleep.

IMG_1424 Chance must be sticking his tongue out at the snow.

I never get Cardinals in the yard, so got a new garden flag with Cardinals. I had to shovel snow so the flag would have some place to hang. And yes I use a cloths pin to keep the flag on the holder..I got tired of chasing flags around the yard..and when I lost one for good..out came the clothes pin.

The little birds were here scarfing down the thistle seed.  They are used to Chance being in the yard, he ignores them.

I should have stayed awake early this morning. I will be unsettled all day today..I had a nightmare.  I was a finalist on Top Chef.  In order to pass to the next level Tom Colicchio said we had to eat some raw snake that was a delicacy..I woke up gagging:)

  1. Let that be a lesson to all of us, never go back to sleep! Well at least you only had to eat it, you didn't have to cook it did you?

  2. Oh man going back to sleep is the worst! When ever I do, I feel like I'm glued to my bed and I struggle for the longest time trying to get up!
An early morning walk in the snow sounds lovely.

I was thinking the groundhog might have gotten it right but then I am now hearing of snow up north. What's up - didn't you get the message. Anyway hope you have a good and warm day.

  6. I don't envy your snow. Ours has all melted and we are getting lots of rain today...ugh...more mud and muddy dog.
Must have been all that spaetzle making that caused the nightmares:)

  7. My little dog does the same thing. At 4:15 in the morning he thinks he just must go outside. I take him, watch the weather channel for a while and then we go back to bed. Sometimes I don't get back to sleep and I am very tired and sometimes in is dreamcity. Then I am so tired.

  10. Your nightmare must have been related to your foody blog yesterday:)
And if it makes you feel any better, we have snow coming down right now, although the temperature is just above freezing.

  11. I am so sorry for all of you notherners. Being a transplanted one myself, I know you are tired to all the snow. My daughters texted me pictures of trying to unbury their cars.

I have fed the birds for years and usually only get one or two sets of cardinals. They are the only color out there it seems.

  12. Raw, I would of woke up gagging too! We have been getting a cardinal now for only a few weeks, I could not believe it when we saw it at the feeder! I agree with Chance about sticking his tongue out at the snow!

I haven't lost a garden flag yet key word (yet) lol hubby bought a special angled pole for them as I change mine to the seasons and bolted it to my potting shed !

  14. Too funny! We watched the finale of 'Worst Cooks' last night. Whew! I don't know how anybody competes in a cooking show with a time limit. They make me a nervous wreck at times.

  16. we have been advised by the weather man that we could get some more winter this week.

No.. I guess I wouldn't rather eat raw snake.

  17. What a terrible dream!

I do adore those snowy pics though... although, if you feel like me, I think we have had enough snow now!

  18. Chance's tongue was not frozen but it sure looks cold in the picture. That is a good idea to have a flag with pictures of a bird or animal you would like to see in the yard. Maybe I will get a deer flag.

  19. yuk - raw snake sounds even more repulsive than cooked snake. I would't eat either...
