Well Thanksgiving is over so now we can think about Christmas. Notice I said just “think” no shopping is planned.
I finished assembling the cards….finally. It took a long time. But what else did I have to do on these long winter evenings? I didn’t use as many paper scraps as I thought I would. Let’s just say the paper stash is still real healthy.
The cards have all their mailing and return addresses, they still need stamps and a Christmas Letter.
We have the paper for the letter, let me tell you that was hard to find this year. We finally ended up at a printing place. We had our choice of three log cabins…sunset, trees or snow. Several drafts of the letter have been completed but nothing is final yet.
We send out just about 110 cards every Christmas. Many of our friends do not have computers so we keep in touch through snail mail. During the month of December our mailbox has one or more cards a day. We like getting mail, and in order to get mail you have to send some!

I also love your new header, and your Christmas cards look just wonderful. I haven't sent any snail mail cards since I retired, but I do send some electronically, or to some people that don't use computers. But not many, that's for sure, so I don't get any either. I don't mind. :-)

I love sending Christmas cards. I have noticed over the years (and especially since the internet came along) that fewer and fewer send cards. Same thing happened to writing letters and sending by snail mail. Especially in genealogy, I really noticed that.

Cards are made here, but am working on a tree skirt for McFamily before I can start addressing envelopes. Long live snail mail!! ;)
Still send Christmas cards, but receive fewer actual cards back each year. Emails, ecards, and texts have replaced the traditional greeting, and they aren't appropriate substitutes in my opinion.
The paper you picked out is pretty. Nothing prettier than a log cabin in the snow. I Love sending Christmas cards, and look forward to getting them too.

You certainly have a lot of cards to send. The ones in the photo are very pretty. I'm afraid the ones I send come in a box and I have pared down our list a lot in recent years.
That's a lot of cards to get out. Good thing you start early! I only send out a few so I've been thinking about starting to bake Christmas cookies instead. We give away lots of plates of those with cards so I have to start early (and hide them good!).
We still send cards too, about 75 each year. We usually send a photo card and a letter. I guess it's about time to think about what we might use for a photo this year and begin composing a letter.
