Far Guy had his first infusion of Aralast here yesterday the nurse was very nice and her parents live in Park Rapids and we know her father. Small world. It took about two hours. A bit longer than the 45 minutes that it took back home. Far Guy has to have the infusions weekly.
I had the first book club from here, no problems it is all online. The Persian Pickle Club was the book, I had read it several years ago but enjoyed reading it again.
We got our first Christmas Card in the mail!
I got out the next book for book club The Children's Blizzard a blizzard that took place in 1888.... a historical novel of the Upper Midwest.
Far Side
Glad all went smoothly for Far Guy's infusion, and you're able to join in with book club online.
ReplyDeleteDo I send your Christmas card to the old address or to the new one, Connie? If the new one, you can leave it in the comments on my blog... I'll write it down then delete your comment without publishing it. ~Andrea xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThe old address is fine all the mail is being forwarded!
DeleteI received my pretty card from you yesterday. Thanks so much for including me, and I sure did enjoy Gene's letter! :-)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for weekly infusions to continue favorable for your Far Guy!! Beautiful card, I like the font. The historical novel sounds compelling.
ReplyDeleteIt is always interesting to discover we have connections to people in places where we don't expect to have them. It has happened to Tom and me many times over the years.
ReplyDeleteThat book is a good one. It might even still be on my book shelf. Hmmm . . .
ReplyDeleteI hope those weekly infusions go well for FG, and that they make him feel better.
I'm guessing your mail is being forwarded? I sent your card to your house.
ReplyDeleteGlad Far Guy is all set up and even with someone he knows. Kind of. :-) It is indeed a very small world.
It was almost 70 here yesterday but it on it's way down now.
Blessings,
Betsy
Yes our mail will be forwarded!
DeleteI love the Persian Pickle Club! Gosh, I have not read that in a while. I am re-reading all my Christmas themed mysteries right now, but I will put a note on my calendar to search my shelves in January. That was such a great book.
ReplyDeleteMy dad had infusions in a VA hospital at one point. They ran them at a slower speed for some reason that made sense, but I can't remember. I hope he is happy with the care. My dad was treated at many hospitals and we were so fortunate to always have amazing medical professionals.
I'm so glad you are closer. To just drive a short distance is ever so much better and to have family with Little Elvis wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI’ve read both books - and enjoyed them. I’m happy to hear that FG’s infusion went well.
ReplyDeleteLove the card! 😊
ReplyDeleteI'm still way behind on everything. Just got some cards but changed my mind! Uff.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are settling in!
My wife and I have a friendly bet on who will send us the first Christmas card. Thus far, we are still waiting to see who wins.
ReplyDeleteI sent in a request for The Persian Pickle Club. I'm always looking for recommended books. It's a great way to discover new authors.
ReplyDeleteI mailed my few Christmas cards today. Hopefully Canada Post doesn't lose any this year.
I’ve read Children of the Blizzard and I think you will like it. I’m intrigued by the name of your last one — the Persian Pickle Club. I think I will have to look into that ones.
ReplyDeleteI have the Persion Pickle Club but I can't remember if I read it or not,,,lol! I love Sandra Dallas books. Also, I have been wanting to read that book on the blizzard. I heard something about it on NPR a while back. You were my first Christmas card and Betsy was the 2nd....I have not started yet....woe is me!
ReplyDeleteWe did pick out and buy our Christmas cards a couple of days ago. You may get one more for sure. I wondered about the infusion situation but I was sure you had that figured out before you went North for the winter. I like the card. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYou with FarGuy's Christmas letter were my first Christmas card! Beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear things went well with the infusion, even if it took a little longer than necessary. Fun that it was someone you had some familiarity with.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books!
I have 14 Christmas cards on my wall already
ReplyDeleteHope far guy's infusions go faster in the future! Glad your book club went well and yea, you're getting your Christmas cards! You probably don't have to deal with the grocery shopping right? Will you take some turns cooking?
ReplyDeleteYes we will take turns cooking. I have been to the grocery store.
DeleteNo cards here yet. I'm going to look for that book. I hope F.G. Infusion s continue to go well.
ReplyDeleteWe got out second card today. The first one was from you. :-)
ReplyDeleteI haven't started figuring mine out yet, but we did finish the decorating today.
