Signs of spring

Far Guy saw two Robins yesterday.  I didn’t see them, hopefully some day they will visit our yard and I can get a photo of them.

The ice is gone from the Millpond, there is still ice on the big lake.  I took a photo out the window as we drove by.

Ice is gone from the millpond

Spring means not much traffic in town, it has picked up a bit since some of the snowbirds are back.

Town

My kind of traffic…hardly any.

The summer chairs are out.  I am not impressed with this years colors.

Chairs

Where is the yellow, lime green and the orange?  Whoever ordered chairs has no imagination.

While we were standing at the checkout paying for grass seed, suet for the birds, a container of Home Defense and a new solar light (the last of the big shoppers) someone exited the store, he came from the right of us and set the alarm off.  Girls ran from upstairs and our gal left the checkout…someone shouted “Don’t try to stop him just get his license plate number.” They came back after a bit and asked if he had paid for his merchandise…no one knew for sure. I only knew what direction he came from, I would be a very poor witness as I couldn’t tell you if he was young or old short or tall had hair or was bald.  I think he had a burgundy colored coat but I wouldn’t swear to it in court.

I was in a clothing store a few years ago and watched as a man exited quickly. I would have missed the whole thing if I hadn't noticed the sales girls rushing to the phone. I did see that he'd parked not in the nearby parking lot, but at a fast food restaurant nearby - presumably to make a clean get away.

I know I wouldn't make a very good witness. Although sometimes my memory is incredible. Glad the robins have started to return to your part of the country. I feel sorry for ours as we keep having cold, snow and ice.

I see what you mean about the chair colors. I remember pictures of yours from previous years, with some really nice colors. And the psychology of eye witnesses is very interesting: you are not alone in being unable to remember what you saw. :-)

I so agree with you about the bright lawn chairs. We got a new ivy green bistro set for Christmas. It goes on the deck with my red Adirondac chair.

Eye witnesses are often unreliable, we just aren't that observant I guess.

You're not concentrated on watching for potential thieves. the store staff should be watching. It's surprising how bold or stupid, mostly stupid, some ot these crooks are.

Most people are poor eye witnesses. That is why forensic evidence is so much better today with all the scientific advances. Hope they caught the guy.

I agree with you on the chair colours. I like the brighter ones much better. Hope they got the guy, but I'm with you on being an eye witness...more or less useless.

I like strong colors also!

Most people are not good eye witnesses. That is why it rarely holds up in court! (My son is a cop) I have chairs in gray and I am thinking of spray painting them in the colors you mentioned!! We've had Robins at our house for a couple of months now.

Lots of times people who clerk don't clear the security scan. Instead of making you go back the guard just says go ahead.

I like the popsicle type colors (bright orange, green etc.)
My family teases me that I am very observant - I hope I won't ever have to be an eye witness!

I'm surprised they have the turquoise...a little edgy there! LOL! I would probably yell "stop or I'll shoot" and then pretend to have a gun in my pocket. I watched too many westerns as a child. I've set the alarm off at Walmart several times because they forget to nullify those special tags that are on some items. Looks like Spring has arrived in your neck of the woods too. It's pretty green here and the dogwoods are blooming and redbuds...so pretty and they're everywhere. Spring is nice here...I'll give them that but it's already 73 and I dressed at 4:30 when it was 47...I guess I'll have to change clothes! Here we go right from heat to the ac! Have a great day!

You do have an exciting life. You can't even go to the Hardware store without some unusual thing happening. Makes life more interesting though.

I do like the red and the turquoise chairs. ;)
Such exciting lives you lead!!

As you say, the chairs need to be more colorful...
It's not your place to be a witness...that's for what they pay all those others who came running...

Haha as I read your comment about not being impressed with the chair colors I thought where is the green?

I agree with you about the chair colors.
Alarms are always going off on people who did pay but some chip didn't get decoded or something. It happened to me just last week.

My robins are back too. Maybe if that guy had been wearing lime green.....
