Day and Night

One day this week us old folks had to get up before sunrise.  Uffda.  Hard on the old folks…we had to have several naps that day and went to bed really early that night. Even the next day we had to have a nap.

I think my butt is still dragging.  Antibiotics always make me have “wild” dreams…so I probably have not been sleeping the best either.  I have been sleep walking several nights.  Not sure what I do…other than walk.

Solar flower by day

I am still taking antibiotics…it remains to be seen if the infection is all gone.  I can still feel a pocket of “something” near my ear.  When you get older it is tougher to bounce back.  I will be happy when I can use a straw again…and spit.  I miss spitting out my toothpaste.  When you are told not to spit for a week the urge almost becomes impossible to control.

Did I tell ya that the Oral Surgeon was really strong?  He lifted me right out of that chair by one tooth…then he cranked this way and that way…I thought he might even hop on top of the chair to get more leverage… you know just like in the old cartoons of a Dentist/Barber pulling a tooth.  He told me not to “freak out” when I heard the crunching sounds….uffda…next time I will demand the Laughing Gas…hopefully there will NOT be a next time.

I am now a fan of Yoplait Greek Yogurt Black Cherry…it is my yogurt of choice to keep all my good bugs as buggy as they should be.  So far so good.   When I get done with these antibiotics I will have been on them for 25 days.  I am so ready to be at the end of the bottle.

You are having a heckuva time! That's a long time in antibiotics. I sure hope all the infection is gone after all this. I have never seen a solar flower. That's cool.

I suggest you get some probiotics to add to the greek yogurt once you're all done with the antibiotics. I find them to be a great help to get back to normal. You certainly made me imagine your agony with that description. Oh Lordy. And you're right: we just don't bounce back as quickly once we get old. :-)

I have plain yogurt in the refrigerator at all times - either Greek or regular and it must have those active enzymes. I use plain yogurt mixed in my breakfast oatmeal; in place of sour cream on baked potatoes; over cooked veggies; and if desperate for something sweet - mix in some jelly or jam or honey in a small dish.
Love your new header!

Wow, that is a long course of antibiotics. I agree with DJan that you probably need something more than just the yogurt to get the good bugs back in your gut. Some other options would be packaged probiotics, unpasteurized sauerkraut, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar, kombucha or kimchi. I feel for you with that tooth, and that image you described, just like the old comics, made me chuckle!

You've had a miserable time with the tooth. I'm not sure that it's because we're old or if this stuff makes us feel old. I hope you're on the mend.

Sounds like an awful experience. Here's sending healing thoughts your way. Hope that antibiotic kills all those bad germs.

Hope you get it all knocked out. I find that now that I'm older not only does it take longer to bounce back, but I have to recover from the antibiotics that always seem to do a job on me.

Yeah we sure don't bounce back like we used to. That is a long time on antibiotics, I had to take some in June and it really wrecked my system, and I was only on them for week.
Love Chance in the daisys.

You'll reach the bottom of that medication bottle soon. . .praying the infection will high-tail it before then.

The last time I took a powerful antibiotic I could see moving stick figures of people and animals on the inside of my eyelids. I really thought I was going crazy. I didn't at first believe that they were on my eyelids but my brain said it would be a dream if they were in my mind. Whatever, I hope the infection gets defeated soon.

I hate the way antibiotics make me feel. I am not a huge fan of yogurt to eat along with the med. so I am happy to know you have found one that is tolerable. Just once, I was awake for a tooth to be pulled - never again! I know you are sick and tired of the whole tooth ordeal. Hoping you begin to feel better soon.
These days, almost every day after lunch, I take a nap. We are real party animals!!!

Antibiotics can really mess you up. I hope the yogurt is helping. What a seemingless endless pain that tooth problem has been.
I like your solar light flower.

Oh I am so sorry you are going through all that. Hopefully the antibiotics will work. That is my favourite yogurt . I always eat yogurt with my antibiotics it seems to help me avoid other nasty side effects:) Take care OK. Hug B

Well, I've heard about people coming to the end of their rope, but never at the end of their bottle ;)

Keep hanging in there!

I had a wisdom tooth removed that way. I almost thought the dentist was going to need to brace his knee on my chest to twist and pull that sucker out. I had to work hard pulling the opposite way gripping the chair arms. The crack was startling even when I was warned. Whew! Glad you got that over with.

I take acidophilus/probiotics during and after I take antibiotics. The yogurt helps, too, but the older I got the more I needed a bigger dose of the good bacteria to get back in balance.

Lovely solar flower. Never have seen one before. Cool! :)

I hope that kick the infection so you never get it again! 25 days IS a long time for antibiotics. i think it's usually 10 days. You had a "humdinger" of an infection!
I love your solar flower...it's the prettiest solar ornament I've seen.
