Buena Vista..I believe that means a good view. Oops I just looked it up..pleasant view. This little group of hills in Northern Minnesota provided the backdrop for some great tubing for the Grandchildren. Son In Law Andy was the big kid that supervised the children.
The weather yesterday was wonderful, sunny with beautiful skies. Temperatures were nearly 40 degrees yesterday...a perfect winter day!!
The kids grabbed their tubes.
Sometimes they came down as groups.
Sometimes they came down by themselves.
Whenever they came down they smiled..thoughts of school, peer pressure and all electronic devices were put aside for an afternoon spent in the snow.
I had a blast watching them..and taking photographs..after all it is more fun to sled down a hill when someone is watching from the bottom:)
That looks like a blast! I remember doing that as a youngster. Don't think I would try it now :)

ReplyDeleteYour last sentence is oh, so true. Even as adults, it's important that someone "watch" our fun and accomplishments!
Yesterday was a perfect day - I bet they were busy. We took our kids up there when they were young and yes the tubing is a blast --- now the skiing I'm a bit scared of watching... That Andy does look like a "big kid" and it looks like he loves it!

Looks like they had a blast! The sign, Ambulance Lane No Parking, reminds me of how quickly things can go wrong. I think its a great idea to put away all those electronic devices etc., and get out and play.

ReplyDeleteTis more fun for me to watch from inside next to a roaring fire with a huge mug of hot chocolate while the fragrance of roast beef cooking fills the room. Oh and did I mention warm fuzzy slippers?
ReplyDeleteThat blue sky is what we had yesterday, for a while anyway. Andy is good to his kids, participating with them. I am sure they need Grandma at the bottom to give them feed back on how they were doing. Fun blog, I regret the physical therapy. Ouch.
