Okay then

Yes I have another skin cancer (malignant melanoma), but just the one spot on my shoulder and the margins were clear with the hunk that the dermatologist took out.  My mole is just a mole and the pearl removed from my chin is nothing to worry about.  Good thing that I see my dermatologist every three or four months so that the little spots don't become huge surgeries like last September when she removed a spot from my cheek.  That was no fun.  Yes the biologic Rheumatoid Arthritis meds can cause your already haywire immune system to go wonky....and skin cancer is the result.   FYI I take no biologic meds for RA anymore.  I take Tylenol (six a day) and THC gummies which are legal in Minnesota.   The joint damage won't be stopped but at my age does it really matter...the biologics did not stop my pain...they just gave me skin cancer as stated in the adverse reactions.

In other happenings.  I am making progress in Spring Cleaning.  I have 15 out of 17 kitchen drawers done and a few of the other cupboards.  I should finish up next week ...maybe.   I have been listing and selling a few things on facebook marketplace.  In the evenings I am working on a notebook of family history. I have added what I can to Find A Grave and discovered an error...that I need to work through...if people kept better records there would be less errors...it will take a fair amount of unraveling to figure it all out.

Far Guy and I share cooking duties this week was; Naan Bread Pizza, Steak and Salmon, fend for yourself and Pork Chops and Rice.

  1. That RA is not for sissies!! One of my nieces struggles with it. She's only in her early 50s. It's probably good that you've stopped taking the non-effective drug that is causing the skin cancers. Glad the gummies are available for you.

  2. You find yourself in a damned if you do and damned if you don't. I hope they find some kind of effective solution. What's the recipe for fend for yourself.

  3. I'm glad you found something else to ease some of the pain. It seems like a very smart thing to do to see the dermatologist.

  4. Good planning on your meals. I never knew that those meds could cause such issues, but thankful that you do stay on top of things with the dermatologist. You are a busy lady but doesn't it feel great to get so much accomplished..

  5. So glad you went in time! My daughter had a "beauty mark" her first 30 years. We noticed in her wedding pictures that it seemed much darker. Two surgeries later . . .
The oldest daughter was manic with sunscreen. But she did develop a skin cancer - in the part of her hair! I think it has come back twice but they are both vigilant about checks now.

  6. You are making good progress on the spring cleaning.
Thanks for posting the menu. It gives us ideas of things to cook. Here is a recipe that discovered me as a pop-up on Pinterest. It is really, really good. I will email the modifications I made to it.

Very thankful your skin visit was good. Some of our bodies were definitely not made to accept man-made medicines. We have extreme sensitivity to them and get all the side effects without even looking to know what they are.

  9. I am so glad you saw the skin doctor and they caught that MM early. And you have a very interesting menu plan. I like the Fend for Yourself idea in particular.

  11. Some good news amid the not-so-good. I have a dear friend who controls her ulcer pain with those gummies.

  13. So sorry about the skin cancer again. I didn't know RA meds could make a person susceptible to skin cancer. When the immune system is haywire all kinds of things can happen. I hope it goes well and you heal fast.
You have been really busy and getting a lot done, though. I'm late--have a nice Sunday. :)

  14. Oh my. I just have to say. Uffdah. That is horrible news.
Yes, I understand that medications cause different side effects depending on which systems of the body it works on.
I wish the gummies were legal in our state.
I'm way behind on things but thinking about trying to catch up....
