Out and about

Saturday we ventured out with Ranger Blue to recycle paper and plastic stuff.  We took a detour on the way home.

As you can see everything is shades of brown.

soon we had snow and a bit of ice on the old trail

Then snow covered.  There were three areas with trees across the trail...we either drive over them if they are small...or around.  We saw Trumpeter Swans out in the old corn fields and some ducks down on Shell River.

It was about 60 F yesterday or 15 C eh!  Not much sunshine but Ranger Blue has heat so we were very comfortable.

We live a hermit lifestyle back here in the woods.  Our only interaction with people in the outside world is at medical appointments or the grocery store.  This week for excitement we had delivery people that delivered the recliner and the Fed X driver who dropped stuff off at the front door.  I did speak with my siblings on the phone and of course Jen and Miss Paige.  Late in the afternoon Saturday my other baby brother, she who sees robins first and their grandson Jordan stopped by for a visit out on the patio!

  1. At least you have a neat place to be Hermits! We are pretty quiet here too except that since we transitioned to Hospice care we do see more people. But it is nice in a way. Rich enjoys talking to those folks.
Looks like fun on the trails!

  2. You are like Laura Ingalls in the house in the big woods. Soon it’ll be warmer for you. It was nearly 80 here yesterday and today even warmer. Eric shocked the pool and soon they will be jumping in.

  3. Saturday was so beautiful here. All the snow is gone, and we had sun! SUN!!! Penny and I went for a working walk at a park where we practiced not being crazy when people walked past or were on BIKES or if there were CARS on the road or even OTHER DOGS! :)

  4. I hope the rest of your snow melts soon and your slice of heaven turns GREEN.

  5. I'm sure it's fun to get out in the Ranger for a ride, and a bonus to do a few errands.
There is something to be said for the peace and quiet of the woods.

  6. Weather is looking up everywhere. My plat was swamped this past week. Lots of sump pumps running full time. Mine have been resting from their work for about 2 days now. And the basement is dry again.

  7. Your snow is going, going...YAY! And a quick ride about is so refreshing for the mind, body and soul. I hope the new diet helps and you can get in sooner than the 30th of May!!!

  9. Visits on the patio are good. Even though the area is still brown, I enjoyed seeing the back road.

  11. Ranger Blue can really manage rough terrain not to mention snow on the road. Now that the weather is (slowly) improving no doubt you'll be out in it more often.

  12. Those side paths that don't get as much sun looked rather messy, but trees down--that's another story. Glad you made it past them. Sounds like you are back in the swing of being in the country again. :)
