ER Visit

Far Guy has a really bad COPD exacerbation.  He was evaluated at the ER.  Our niece Stacey was on duty so he got excellent care!  They gave him IV steroids, a nebulizer treatment and fluids.  His blood work and x rays looked reasonably good. He could have stayed in the hospital for observation but he preferred to come back home...even if the night nurse is cranky.  He was started on a course of antibiotics and steroids.  Of course he will do nebulizer treatments often, rest in the recliner or bed and do what ever I say!  His Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency makes him very prone to breathing problems.

I hope we do not have to go back to the hospital.  Time will tell.

A nearby creek where we always look for Marsh Marigolds...they should be blooming soon.

It rained.

  6. Prayers for your sweet husband and you, too, of course. FG has two great nurses - - his niece and you! You know his condition better than anyone and know the best treatment for him. So thankful you know when he needs extra medical attention - - and hopefully he will Not need to go back into the hospital - - especially when it is starting to get pretty outside weather for you.

  7. Prayers for FG. I know that the blooming season makes it difficult for him. I do see some green at the creek, so hopefully the little flowers will be out soon,

  10. Prayers for a speedy recovery. I am glad you have an "in" at the ER to make sure he gets the BEST care! I am sure he is resting better at home. Getting him in quickly and getting him what is needs sure seems like the way to stay a little ahead of all this. Sorry you guys are going through this.

  11. Since the night nurse is dealing with her own issues, I can see where she might be cranky. Between the two of you you certainly have you hands full.
