Indigo Bunting
Yesterday we finally heard the Loons calling on the lake.
Birds we saw; Blue Jay, Chickadee, Nuthatches, Woodpeckers, Yellow Rumped Warblers, Goldfinches, Pine Siskins, Purple Finch, Rose Breasted Grossbeak, Baltimore Orioles and Indigo Bunting and Bluebirds.
But did we see a Robin in our yard...not yet.

I've only seen one Indigo Bunting in my lifetime...so gorgeous!
You have a large variety of birds to enjoy. Keep us posted on the robin's appearance.
What a gorgeous bird!!! All the robins are at my house.
What a beautiful bird! She who sees robins first has probably seen one already, right? :-)
yes!
The crows have returned and I saw a tiny canary in the hedge last week. Still no robin.
Isn't that interesting? We've had robins for weeks now. There are at least two pairs nesting in the block I live in. I'm enjoying seeing the birds too, but you have me beat in identifying them.
No robins yet? I gave them your address when they were down here! The bunting is beautiful....I love blue birds but now I love buntings too!
I see very few varieties of birds, but have had robins here for weeks. I'd trade them for the assortment you get there any day--LOL! ;)
Oh those fickle robins! Are the worms in your yard still hibernating?
It's the time of year! We have an almost identical list - except no Indigo Bunting!
We have a mourning dove nesting on top of our furnace vent. I hope we don't have to turn the furnace on soon. Lots of robins too.
Blessings,
Betsy
So lovely birds are always so lovley, except when they shit on you
This list would keep things interesting.
Wonderful list of birds that you saw. Tom and I just returned from Magee Marsh at the edge of Lake Erie. Publicity for the area calls it The Birding Capital of the World. Lots of migrants fly through the area in the spring. I still haven't seen an Indigo Bunting this spring. I know they are around.
Great list of bird sightings. As I recall there is a member of your family who must see robins first.
That is great! I will keep a lookout for the Indigo Bunting - sometimes they stop once or twice and I catch! We have had many Orioles - going through the jelly and now bought some oranges too.
That's a fine list of birds seen. I am envious, although we did have a wee Warbler ( not sure which one it was) at the birdbath a couple of times today. Hopefully you'll see a Robin soon.
All the robins are still in Oregon! :) My hubby and I also love watching the birds that come into our yard.
We have a lot of robins, bluebirds, jays, nuthatches and chickadees and a pair of cardinals. I love watching the birds.
