Seeing Clearly Soon

When I left home for my Eye Doctor appointment Far Guy said “If I hear of a ruckas in town I will know it was you.” (There were no offers to come bail me out)

They made me wait a long time.  Finally they checked my vision with a machine.  No huge  changes.  As they walked me into the exam room the “B” gal (you can guess what B stands for)…stood at the counter with a smirk on her face.

My Eye Doctor is a really nice guy …we discussed the problem and he knew what was wrong.  He wanted to double check so we went out to the waiting room where there are computers…he asked the “B” gal to find something on the computer so he could test my reading…well she picked the Mpls St Paul Obituaries. ha ha

The Doctor changed my reading glasses prescription back to the old prescription…finally.  “B” gal took the order and said she would call when the glasses came in…not a thank you  or have a nice day.   I wondered later if she wrote down the correct prescription…we will see or not see.

I would just as soon never darken their door again…it takes many great employees to make up for one bad employee…and she is a doozy.

She should learn some customer service skills or be fired! I worked many years in Customer Service positions of all types and we learned to listen to our customers. Always!

There is nothing worse than a "B" employee. I would say something to the head person in the office or the eye doctor. In this day and age there is no excuse for poor customer service. Hopefully your new glasses will work out for you and you don't have to go back there anytime soon. At least the eye doctor is nice, that means a lot.

I do hope she wrote it down right and that soon you'll be able to see properly again. What a nuisance it is to have to deal with such a "B." :-)

I hope they come in perfect - my experience last fall was also not good.

Hopefully, B's smirk disappeared as soon as the doctor confirmed that you were correct. Telling someone to wear an incorrect prescription and their eyes will adjust is ludicrous. Please share your experience with the doctor or office manager.

Isn't that the truth - it takes just one employee to spoil the pot. We used to go to one coffee shop - until the owner helped us and charged me extra for what the other employees did not. Will never darken their door again. The same for a second place - won't go in any of their businesses again. On the other hand a friend had a wonderful experience. She had been getting her dog things by Chewy.com until the dog at 2 years old died. The company called a while after noticing that she hadn't ordered anything and she haltingly told her story. Shortly after a beautiful bouquet of flowers was delivered with their condolences and she thinks it was the owner she talked to. She will recommend that company to anyone for their sensitivity and thoughtfulness. So it goes both ways.

I know what you mean about one bad employee. Some years back I took my sweet little kitty to the vet. The assistant was horrible & cruel. I never went back. Found another vet & guess who turned up working there a few years later - yep the horrible assistant.

So It is not just me thinking I am running in to more Of these "B" people.
Now every day!!! Just because people get old they sure do not get sweeter.
Some one told me just because we live in a church run community, every one
is not Christian. Sure busted my bubble.

I always wonder why B gals/guys are kept on payroll...it never makes any sense.

I hope you can see again when these come!! Nothing worse than a wrong prescription.

I had the same experience the last time I had my eyes examined and got new glasses. I had to take them back three times and the girl behind the counter was absolutely horrid to me. The eye doctor rechecked the prescription and said they were totally wrong. Every time I came in or called the assistant would just say I needed to take the time to get used to them. So much malarkey! I’m glad you finally are on the road to getting the correct glasses my friend. Blessings, Betsy

Why do companies keep employees like her??? and why are there so many like her out there??? Hope they get your glasses right.

Well I would hope that anyone that comes across a 'B' employee would mention it to the the manager, eye doctor etc. Because it may be that the 'B's' boss is unaware of the situation. Hope your glasses 'work' properly for you this time.

We have mostly all "B" Doctors out here in West Virginia! When my 38 year old Son died of Lung Cancer almost three years ago, I got sick of course and I guess it was from too much grief she said ( You really shouldn't be that depressed!) I couldn't believe she actually said that to me! And now I've been having so much pain that it's hard to walk so went to another Doctor! Well, I told her about the pain but she didn't really seem to care. She just wanted me to take tests for STD's, HIV, and Syphilis!! I was mortified because she said it's so important! I told her that just because I live in West Virginia doesn't mean I'm like your so called nasty other Patients! She wasn't to happy with me. Just can't find decent Doctors here. Sharon

I sure hope the new glasses will be exactly what you need.

It's really hard when there is no way to get around the "B" team to get to the service provider you need.

I hope the glasses come out right. I guess just be glad she's not an OR nurse!

I was prescribed varifocals which I hated. I always felt I was going to fall down stairs. After a year I went back for an eye test and said I didn’t want another pair because I couldn’t get used to them. Assistant patronisingly “you have to try them for st least 6 weeks you know” me “they still don’t work after a year”.
And then of course you have to battle with the 17 year old assistant who tries to con you into horrible frames (which I wouldn’t be seen dead in a ditch wearing) because they are ”on trend”.
