Hey Mikey! : Moving to Michigan

Our Great Grandson Hey Mikey is moving to Michigan with his Mom and his Dad.   His Mom has passed all her tests for her license and has a job in Michigan.  Hey Mikey’s Dad will be working for his Dad in a Welding Shop.  Hey Mikey will be going to a Church Daycare.

Hey Mikey and his Grandma Trica

Many people will miss him.  His Grandma will be sad, but she will adjust…we all did.  She moved our grands away to Chicago and then to Nebraska…so I understand her feelings.

Jen and Mikey August 2018

Great Auntie Jen will miss him too!

I gave him several big mushy kisses on the cheek…I am thankful that his parents have jobs and a place to live.  I wish them all much luck on this new adventure!

That's the way it is now, families all spread out. Thank goodness for all the things that make it easier now to stay in each others' lives long distance -- like FaceTime and texting. Of course, there is nothing like a good mushy personal kiss though!

Been there done that, I certainly know of the mixed feeling,.. happy for them and their new journey, but sad for our loss. I am thankful for ways to travel, social media and cameras.
Praying for much happiness and success for your dear family.
Blessings,
Sue

Mikey is adorable. Texting, digital photos, and video chats will make the move more tolerable. Best wishes on their new adventure.

Finding good jobs is important at the beginning of their young lives. Mikey is growing and changing so quickly. We didn’t recognize our oldest grandson when we saw him in a photo.

I have had similar feelings when my son and his wife and children moved 500 miles away. I'm glad we have Facebook and Skype.

It is hard to watch our loved ones move away but that seems to be the way it is today. You are right to be thankful they have jobs and a place to live. The world is much smaller today and hopefully you can visit on something like Facetime. He sure is a good looking young man!

You will need to do video chats, for sure!! And these days they can send you pictures and videos, too. I know it is not the same, but it way better than it used to be. ;) He will be missed. What a cutie pie!!

It is so hard when family moves away. I know because we were the ones that did it first in our family. We moved halfway across the country from Nebraska to Washington state. Now all three of our children have moved away. It is very, very hard. How fortunate that Mikey is so well loved by so many.
Blessings, Betsy

Oh my goodness, what a cute boy he is. He looks so sweet.I know you all hate to see him go. I'm always surprised to see that I've missed three or four of your posts. Don't the days fly??

He has really developed his facial features since I last saw a picture...cuter than ever! You will all miss him but there is Skype now a days and Face Time for Apple users? I'm happy for them as it's great they have good jobs but sad for you guys who are left behind but they'll come back for visits! Tell them to send pictures as we want to continue to have 'updates' here on your blog....Mikey is like family now for us non-relatives.

We took our boy away from Grandma and Grandpa when he was 18 months (Los Angeles to Oregon) which was not too bad, but then 2 years later, moved 1500 miles away to the Midwest. My parents did a rather amazing job being "long-distance" grandparents (without Skype and etc) modern so I am sure you and the other grandma will figure things out. Sure is a cutie!

It's so hard when they move so far away isn't it?

Welcome to Michigan Hey Mikey and family! It's a nice place to live....I hope you check out all the Great Lakes, and the sand dunes and the "UP NORTH" while you're here. Katie (The sheltie princess) and I (and her dad) live in Michigan, about an hour north of Detroit. If anybody needs anything we're here and can probably help!
