Orioles

The Orioles scouted out our yard and feeder for a few days before six of them…one female and five males sat like ornaments in the trees.

One Oriole

One Oriole

Four orioles

A few more

Orioles three

Finally the bravest three explored the feeder.

It was fun to watch.  I have oranges and grape jelly in the feeder for them. The oranges were huge so I put out a half of an orange cut in half again.  The orange pieces sit on a screw head.  You have to remember to pierce them before you take them out to the feeder.

The female finally chased everyone away so she could eat by herself, the males went to the bird bath for a drink and poof they all left the yard.

The Orioles finally returned to my feeder also. I have a pair - male and female. They also visit my Hummingbird feeder. Such gorgeous birds.

Birds are fun to watch, and they're wise to be wary. Wonderful photos!

Orioles are so pretty. We don't have them here, but Mac once painted one we saw in Oklahoma.

Orioles are very secretive so they easily could be in a corner of your yard.

I love Orioles. We have a couple here, but that is all. I put out special feeders, but they shun them and only eat from the hummer feeders SIGH

Probably wise for such bright, easily seen birds to be cautious. They are beautiful! :)

I have only seen one Oriole and that was in Texas, and you get to see six at a time.
Hope they stay with you for the summer.

That's really neat. She must have known that mothers get special treatment at your feeders. I just made that up, thinking of Mother's Day. :-)

Such lovely birds. It's so easy to miss seeing them if you don't happen to be watching at the right moment.

Loved seein' this!!! I was so excited when they arrived here on the Ozark Ponderosa but after 13lbs of jelly I was ready for 'em to pack their bags and head north. I still have a few lingerin' around the yard. 'Love to watch the little bright clowns of the air. God bless and have a magnificent day.

'Fit as a fine tuned fiddle. Life is full. Moms passing hit me hard, funny how the grieving process works. Lost my MIL last year too. Seems like we jumped into elder care and sunk like a rock. Totally life consuming. Seems I've filled my life it has left no time or energy for bloggin'. Loved it and I do so miss my bloggin' friends. I pop in and read every now and again. I still would love to carve out more time for it. You have a great day dear friend.
