The last time I cooked Easter dinner for everyone was 2010. So it was about time I took my turn. 38 were invited. 14 attended. Needless to say everyone that showed up took home leftovers and Far Guy and I have plenty to eat for the next few days.
The tall boys put out eggs for the little boy egg hunt. The yard was dotted with eggs. Teddy had fun gathering them up…he also enjoyed the train upstairs.
Jennifer made carrot cake cupcakes with even some gluten free ones for her grandfather. She took over the kitchen on Saturday afternoon and made crescent rolls. Andy double smoked the ham in his smoker. (It was really good!) My Mom made some pickles and Cindy and Jody brought a tray of veggies. I made turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cheesy potatoes, corn, coleslaw, baked beans, fruit and Rice Krispy bars.
It was a good gathering. I couldn’t have done it without great help from Andy,Jen, Adam and Noah. Look how tall those boys are…next year I bet they pass up their Dad.
Noah and my other baby brother Jody washed and dried a mountain of dishes.
Here are the “guys”
Andy, Gene, Adam and Noah
After everyone left we all had a nap…even Chance.
Glad you had a nice Easter.
Happy Easter! After all that I can see a nap as a necessity. Nice family pictures.
Sounds yummy! Large crowds are festive but smaller ones can be enjoyed a bit more. I love your arrangements on the shelf behind Jen's Family. They are happy-looking items.
How is life for The Mayor? Busy I am sure.
What a great family gathering, with tons of good food to eat and great company. You are sure lucky. :-)
I have lots of leftovers as well from our Easter dinner gathering. We had a great time, and grandson got to hunt some eggs, but in the house, as we had rain.
Leftovers are a great way to stretch out the holiday fun. Great photos of your family.
W e five had only five Mrs T. will probably sleep in all day....:)
So glad you got to see so much of the family and it sounds like it was just a delightful day!
Sounds like a great day!
That was a fun traditional Easter day. It is nice that family can come in and lift some of the work off the headcook's shoulders. Turkey and ham for the meal would have tasted great. My mom's side of the family use to have this kind of get together until all of the kids left home.
Wow you had a house full and looks like a great time! Yes those grandboys are getting tall!
I bet those guy had an appetite too - did they leave any leftovers at all? :)
What a beautiful family day -- sounds much like mine!

And I'll bet that good visiting was more enjoyed than the food although the food sounds awfully good to me.

What a feast! And aren't leftovers wonderful? It's great you had good helpers because that's a lot of family to feed!
It's always great to have the family home for Easter! Looks like it was a good one.
Sounds like you had a lovely Easter. A great looking family.
I'm glad they are not too old for Easter Baskets! Everyone needs Easter Baskets!
Despite all that hard work, it still is good to be able to get together with family. Sometimes, it's the working with family that makes it so good. Glad you had a wonderful Easter!
Girlfriend, you sure know how to throw an egg~cellent Easter bash for sure.
.....and men who do dishes...it doesn't get any better than that!!!
Have a blessed and beautiful week :o)
Sounds like you had a fantastic Easter! Nap time sounds wonderful, too. :-)
That was an amazing list of food you whipped up! I'm glad you had a good time with your gang.
Having several people helping all around the edges is what makes for a great family dinner. :)
