Frosty again yesterday.
Far Guy played chauffeur and dropped me off at the grocery store door and picked me up again when I was done.
Supper last night was pretzel bun hamburger Philly cheese, Yukon Gold smashed potatoes with cheese and for fruit grapes and kiwi fruit. Can you tell I cooked...I do like potatoes most anyway they are made. The small Yukon Golds are boiled then smashed (I should have used parchment paper or a silicone mat instead of aluminum foil) anyway top the smashed potato with a bit of butter and cheese then pop into the oven for awhile.
I worked on my photo album project in the afternoon. Jen's album is pretty much done. Old empty albums tossed in the trash 2.
Minnesota weather; High 22F or -6C Low was 17F or -8C eh! Mighty fine weather for January!
Far Side
I love potatoes in all shapes and sizes! And icy? Here too, and white (we haven't seen this much snow here in years). Greetings.
ReplyDeleteIt was a help to be dropped off and picked up. You do that for FG many trips. Brrr to your weather.
ReplyDeleteGroceries. I actually picked some things up yesterday, but nothing really looked pleasing to me.
ReplyDeletewe're finally getting sun and warmth...50s and 60s all week...
ReplyDeleteBet it feels great to have another photo book almost at the finish line. I'm a potato girl too - love most any kind, cooked any way. I love Yukon golds but my husband prefers plain old Russets. And this is the time of year I crave potatoes.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy potatoes a great deal too. We ate them almost every day when I was a child. Mom grew masses of them in the garden, and they stayed in the small basement under the stairs all winter. Boiled and mashed, baked, or scalloped are all favorites.
ReplyDeleteStay warm!
I like potatoes but use pasta and grains more often. We are in that awful place between freezing and melting.
ReplyDeleteThose potatoes sound delicious! I will have to try that!
ReplyDeleteI like potatoes always any which way even UP!
ReplyDeleteStill rainy here.
ReplyDeleteI like smashed Yukon golds too, but I mash them up with a little milk, rough mashed with skins, served with butter.
I've not made potatoes this way, but I will for sure be doing so soon. They sound so good..I mean, who doesn't love potatoes, butter and cheese.. I certainly do. It's always nice to have a chauffeur to drop you off at the door.
ReplyDeleteWe made it up to a high of -6 C today- very much wanting warmer weather! We had huge hoar frost but it is rapidly disappearing today. I might try those cheesy smashed spuds!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about issues in Minnesota.
ReplyDeleteMinneapolis always has issues/ radical left live there.
DeleteIt was 60F here today. Can you believe it on January 7th? I made baked potato soup yesterday and it was really good. Quick and delicious. Tonight Dennis grilled steaks in the air fryer when he got home from the Mission. that was good too. I knitted quite a bit this afternoon with the balcony door wide open. The fresh air was so nice.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
I love potatoes but we don't eat many. Growing up our main meal was meat , potatoes and veggies. I still miss it.
ReplyDeleteI'll be trying those smashed potatoes very soon! Thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to be chauffeured! You are making quick work on those photos/albums!!
ReplyDeleteLD....I have never had pretzel buns. The tree photo turned out great.
