New Year Old Project

The puzzle board is moved for now...off to the side.  Maybe by the end of the month it can be moved back:)  No promises.

For years I put photos in albums...never ever more than two alike. Now I have like albums in different colors.  All the old photos in the old albums are being sorted into three piles...Trica, Jen and us.  I am writing names and the year on the back and location if I think it is necessary.  I am using photo safe pencils. Mine come from Creative Memories but I think they can be purchased at Hobby Lobby and other places.

Jen carried everything downstairs for me to the puzzle table.  And so it begins.

Here is an old photo of Far Guy and I back in August of 1994.

  1. Good picture of you two! I rarely print photos anymore. Time sure flies by the older we get. We were discussing yesterday how it does not seem possible that it’s been almost 20 years since we purchased our small farm. Wishing you both good health throughout 2026. RHill, TX

  2. Very proud of you doing photo sorting. I still NEED to do that. I have been sorting and reorganizing in my 'craft' room and when that part is done, it will be time to tackle pictures. They need to be ready so there is no stress one day when the funeral home is ready for them. Honestly I wish I could hire someone to do that task - - - or have them do all the household stuff and cooking so I can work on it without interruptions.

  4. That is a great project! I wish my parents or grandparents did the same thing. I look at old pictures from them and have no idea who I am looking at.

  5. It's a lot of work to organize photos. Much organization needs to be done around here.

  6. Good for you. I have a stack of old photo albums that will probably just have to stay as they are. Eventually they may just be tossed, since my two kids aren't really savers. We'll see. I might need good sedentary projects when I can't move much any more.
Ah, that photo. We were all young once. Sigh.

  7. Love your determination! I also need to sort/organize old photos. Right now most of mine are mass grouped by year. Before the digital era, I always printed duplicates so I could send copies to my grandmother in Spain. Eventually they made their way back to me. I am thinking of scanning after sorting to share digitally with my three kids. Doubt they want the hard copies.

What do you plan to do/make with yours? They sure are fun to look back on.

  9. I have sorted photos into 9 x 12" manila envelopes and labeled the envelopes, but I need to go through them again. I have two large plastic tubs full of envelopes!

  11. I've sorted pictures into envelopes & need to get some kind of system. I've got into making photo books with current pictures I've taken. Daughter just gave me pictures disks to put the pictures on flash drives or such.
