We got a box of Colorado peaches. I peeled and sliced them, added a bit of sugar and fruit fresh then Far Guy stirred them up and put about a peach and a half in food saver bags that we put in the freezer. That way we can enjoy fresh peaches during the winter.
It took us less than an hour to complete that project!

ReplyDeleteWe used the last two jars of the peaches I canned two years ago. The squirrels got the two or three that our two new peach trees produced this year. Someday in hopefully not too many years, I will be able to can some more peaches again. They are hard to beat.
ReplyDeleteYum, fresh peaches! I remember mom buying them from the fruit truck every fall. She canned hers and it was always so wonderful to enjoy those in the winter.

ReplyDeleteI got peaches for my husband this weekend, but just a few. I don't care for peaches but he loves them. And these were delicious he said. They looked good. Wish I liked them.

ReplyDeleteI like peaches but not the peel, so I get nectarines. It's so satisfying to complete a task like this, you get to reap the rewards later when it means more.

ReplyDeleteWe live about three miles from a farm that raises lots of fresh veggies, meat, and fruit. We love buying from them instead of the stores where most of it is old and even rotten. We are buying lots of peaches now and will be until the middle of September. Tonight our whole dinner will be from there! We love it even though it's more expensive!
