Sunflowery

Jen and I teamed up to paint a porch sitter.  A porch sitter/leaner is a piece of wood that usually has a design or says something like welcome, home etc...it sits on your porch leaning up against the wall.

I did the blue/green and then Jen painted a sunflower on one end and I painted on the other end.

It was a fun project! I think it turned out great!

The sunflowers in all the sunflower fields were turning their heads downward from the weight of the seed heads.

Grain harvest has begun and some of the bean fields are starting to turn color.

Minnesota weather: High of 82F or 28C Low was 60F or 16C eh!

Long time friends Mike and Ginny from Iowa stopped by today and then my other baby brother and she who sees robins first, then nephew Josh came by with his new puppy who is really cute!

Supper was steak and a baked potato along with the first yellow pear tomatoes of the season.

  2. You 2 are artists for sure with the shading! It's beautiful! Those are the kind of flowers I need as my watering days are over! I'm glad to hear fall is coming although it won't be here until October maybe. It's 100 every day and no rain in the forecast. Sounds like you had a great day with family and friends and a new puppy too? You are so fortunate!

  3. That porch sitter is really awesome. That shade of blue is perfect. In the fall the sky seems a particular color of blue against the dried fields of corn, beans, sunflowers, etc - different than a summer sky. I love it.

  7. Sounds like a good way to spend time. Making art is always good. Field corn and soybeans in this area are still green, not ready for harvest.

  12. I love your "porch sitter". Here in Ohio we call them something else - and my brain is blank on what that is. Now I will be thinking, lol. I know some places have "painting parties" where you make them with a stencil.
    The sunflowers are perfect.

  13. Oh, what a darling porch sitter, Connie. You & Jen did a fantastic job on it. And what nice company you had too. Whenever it involves a puppy, it's a great visit. *haha* Love, Andrea xoxo
