It is that time of year when the Coneflowers start to bloom.
Far Guy is finally starting to see some results from all the seeds he has planted!
Same old same old here, still struggling with the Lymes. My Doctor prescribed a new med...it is worth a try.
August is half over, we need rain. I mowed on Monday but only to even out the weeds. A few leaves are falling out of the trees...typical for August.

Evening out the weeds is on my list of things to do today.
Same here. The leaves are beginning to fall from the trees, but just a few at a time right now. Pretty purple flowers. :-)

I do hope the new meds do the trick so you can start feeling better soon. The purple coneflowers are lovely. I've always thought they are a pretty flower. They say "simplicity" to me for some reason.

Ugh, I hope this new med works for you. I'm sure you're frustrated and just plain tired of Lyme.
Growing coneflowers from seed does seem to take time. I had minimal success. One indoor seeded plant (out of six) survived & flowered the second year. Tried again this year, I have two strugglers. I also spread seed in my butterfly garden. Hoping for more coneflower blooms next year!
They are all SO pretty once established. I see a rainbow colored variety in the background of your photo, very pretty!

My coneflowers are terribly bug-eaten this year. And I'm not quite sure what bugs are doing it.

I love cone flowers but they do not persist here in my garden. Yours are native I believe.
Your cones are great. Mine bloomed earlier but now all are dead, dried out. We are now told the rain last week didn't help and our drought is worse. I hope the meds do make things better. That is the pits.
I have a number of first year Coneflowers and I'm hoping they make it through our soggy winters. I've noticed some leaves falling too but I think it has to do with the drought.,

We have a cottonwood tree in the front yard that is very sensitive to drought and it started loosing its leaves in July. We have had some rain (south central Missouri), but some of our smaller dogwood trees have died. Hope the meds work and that you won't suffer any long-term effects.
