Along the road

This scarecrow lady is along the road to "the point."

I suppose only those who grew up in the area know where "the point" is.

Is is a point of land that sticks out into Fish Hook Lake.  We took Tilly out there one day.

FYI: Tilly had an appointment to have some body work done and a paint job...and the fellow cancelled because he had so few workers in his shop.  So we are still looking for someone to do the work.

Our local town is known as PR and one further away as DL.   Not sure when the initials began to be used.

Oh yes and then there is "Crocus" only the teenagers back in the 50's and 60's know about Crocus or Crocus Hill.  Lets just say it had many places to park.

That's a pretty spot! Hope you find someone to do that paint job on the car.

We have "those" spots also. Now houses cover them :(

A city near my hometown, Prince Albert has been known as P.A. for as long as I remember. But it seems everything needs to be shortened these days to fit into a text. :p
I really like the scarecrow. It's quite the vignette!

Great photo of Tilly at the Point.

Well, that was fun. Got me to thinking about names only locals knew in my old neighborhood.

Love the lady scarecrow. I'm so sorry the update of Tilly got canceled.....hopefully you'll find some else to do the work. The Point is a very pretty spot.

Haha, Crocus sounds like the area where hubby and I used to go when we first started dating. Thanks for bringing up some great memories :)

Neat! I know I told someone I was going to Pott's Corners one time and they gave me a blank stare. Only those who've been around for 30 or more years in the area know of that place.

There seems to be a shortage all over. Even getting appointments done have been an effort at the eye clinic. I had to look up my own info on MyChart to tell the gal who my eye doc was and the last time I'd seen him.

We got it done and she apologized. I said not to worry.
Every place in our town has a 'We are Hiring' sign out.

Nice scarecrow lady. Nice picture of Tilly with the lake in the background.
I hope you find someone to do the body work on her.

We never had "those spots" in any particular place in or around our city... maybe because most of us were busy "dragging Main" back in the 70s, which was the place to be. LOL! Our city doesn't have initials, but the name is shortened to "Hutch" from Hutchinson (or "South Hutch" for those who live across the river from the main city)... seems it's been known this way for decades. // Businesses around here are way understaffed also... doesn't matter the type of business, just no one to fill those jobs.

That's a great shot of Tilly's hindquarters! :-)

I think every small town has a "point" of some sort.
Hope you can find a spa for Tilly's makeover!

I know where "The Point" is! Haven't driven there for awhile will have to do that soon! And I do know where Crocus Hill is, it was still a spot in the late 70's, early 80's I think because it was the edge of town and there were some homes there and it was walking distant. In middle school, I had a friend who lived in that area. (places to park) made me laugh :)

Lake Pokegama had a point but I don't remember where. Our property was on a point as the lake wrapped around the corner of the property and a harbor was built at that corner.
