“NRTS” is short for Not Repairable This Station. It is an Air Force “thing” with numerical codes. The numerical code explained why it was not repairable . Such as lack of parts, lack of technical knowledge, repair not authorized, lack of equipment…
Guess this must be NRTS Code 4 lack of parts.
A long time friend died yesterday. As he left the hospital to go home to die the Doctors said he would live three days….and he made it ten days. The extra time was well spent with his immediate family. Jim struggled with lack of parts for years…mainly his leg which was eventually amputated. Prior to his amputation he had recurrent Staph infections. Later he would be on and off dialysis and have heart problems. He was a “classic” friend. He had faith, faith in God and he knew that he was saved only by grace and grace alone not by works…should any man boast.
Perhaps our friend is not repairable this station…but is in the next. NRTS.. HB Heaven Bound.

ReplyDeleteI never heard of NRTS before, but it resonates, all right, as my own parts become wonky. It sounds like your friend is in a better place and died with peace in his heart. I could only wish the same for myself.

ReplyDeleteI had never heard of NRTS but it sure fits this situation doesn’t it? I’m so sorry for your loss, but rejoicing that your friend is now fully repaired and walking the streets of gold. Thank you for sharing this with us today. We have had several family losses lately and it always helps to rememeber that it is OUR loss, not theirs.

ReplyDeleteVery interesting that NRTS...I may use that system for my projects. So sorry for your loss but your friend did have a strong faith. It's easy to have faith when everything goes smoothly but show me the person who still has faith after suffering....I am certain he is heaven bound for sure.
